Slightly harsh.

But remember, lowering recoil is one of the easiest task.
You just have to iecrease gas flow or decrease bolt weight or increase bolt weight or change spring force or add muzzle brake and you're good to go.

Decent forward thinking relative to Indian Standards, asking for manufacturer to provide flip-up sights, foregrip, holographic sight, tax light, LAM etc.

One can see why X95 keeps getting selected by CAPFs as this is one of the few guns where an OEM can provide all the said features without joining hands with another OEM as their sister firms. But no foregrip with that, so it’s realistically just speculation on my part. The Mepro MOR with the X95 already has an integrated Visible and IR Laser.

Well any AR-10 pattern rifle, tuned correctly will have lower recoil than a SCAR. But except muzzle brakes, there is no way to actually "reduce" recoil.

Recoil is a technical term, there is no practical use of it. You multiply velocity with mass and you get recoil.
What really matters is "perceived recoil", and it's bit more complex.

SCAR does this by using an extremely heavy bolt carrier group, so that recoiling velocity is low.
Negev 7 uses a long recoiling distance to distribute the energy peaks over a long duration.
Competition AR-10 uses a light weight BCG, least possible gas pressure and in-line stock arrangment.

In all the cases the mathematical recoil energy of a 7.62x51mm round is constant. What's actually changing is how that recoil energy is being transferred in the shooter.

Just read in INSAS thread(of 2018) that DRDO was developing a better version of 7.62x51 rifle based on SIG platform. Anyone has any pics or info on this??

There was a rumour back then. It was started probably in BRF, based on some ARDE official saying that they can offer the Sig-550 style carbine in 7.62*51mm assault rifle version, if asked by the Army.

However, as per open source info there has not been any progress in that, due to lack of interest in the Army, who was extremely content in Sig-716i rifle and was probably planning it as the mainstray rifle to equip the Infantry.

However, recent cancelling repeat order for second batch of Sig-716i rifles, may invoke some interest in Army on the ARDE rifle.

If however, the ARDE rifle do gets developed it will be very similar to the Sig-751 rifle shown below.
