I don't think that he is doing it for job security. Post retirement, he is most likely to become ambassador to any foreign nation or will serve as a Governor to any Indian state.

I could not hold a weapon steady enough with that level of magnification to take a shot, even with a sling. I would need to take a supported position.

Its a thermal viewer, Position is good when shoot and scoot in ambushes, Not for sniping in long durations..

FAL for long range shooting..

Galil for sharp shooting





Galil is preferred coz it have a unique sight mount, Its lower on side not in middle, Via this the shooter is not exposed as in case of other Rifles..

These pics are very old not new.We are locally manufacturing SVDs under license which is far more better in comparison between SLR in terms of range and accuracy.But SLRs if converted into DMRs could come handy to the paramilitaries like CRPF,assam rifles and IRB who are in frontline in tackling extremism.
