So everything comes down to Butt

Anyways, the last time OFB used a Fab made stock, it was absolutely flawless.

So they very well know how to use a Fab stock.

The only question is, why they went full retard this time?
Reservation does funning things with an organization's stupidity levels at making decisions.

Why do you think they’ve done this extra jugaad?
Shouldn’t the FAB Defense Buttstock for milled AKs be a direct fit? Or is the stock that of a stamped AK and the extra Trichy adapter to compensate for that?
Yes 2nd part, it also is case of "Nakal Me Akkal Nahi Hoti"....
it is basically this
> Trichy here = Type-3 pattern milled receiver AK, is given that Arsenal pattern buttstock adapter riveted on its rear end, that is compatible with AKS74 (or broadly speaking modern AK pattern) folding buttstocks
> FAB buttstock kit here, is also of same modern AK pattern folding buttstock type,

So it goes like this
<FAB buttstock + adapter>[affixed on]<Arsenal's AK adapter>{riveted on}<Trichy assault rifle>

^instead of these jugaad why the fuck they don't just adopt to something that's more universal for sake of commonality...
in our case, those AK-203 are going to be standard so it is wise to adopt to those modern AK pattern square bracket buttstocks keeping in future things in mind...just make cutout for same in rear end of the rifle and integrate that external riveted buttstock adapter directly inside the rifle like current gen AKs...then if needed just affix FAB one buttstock on it instead of this jugaadu kopy paste idea from Arsenal's AK

It's not that they are incapable of doing so, as @Lonewarrior bhai shown in next post they did exact same mod on OFB R-2 i.e. putting current gen buttstock bracket/adapter in that milled receiver of R-2 so FAB buttstock goes directly in...so yeah...

Some more 'smart' things that could be done regd buttstock adapters is
=> AR buffer tube style adapters, so any AR pattern buttstock could be used
1639823144053.png

=> vertical Picatiny Rail in place of adapter,
1639823065598.png

a new thing but already getting traction,
SIG's NGSW-R patent too shown it in place of buttstock etc...
this way any picatiny compatible buttstock can be directly put on it

Another possibility, a very very jugaadu idea but still just in case...say, some genius from OFB successor got the idea of giving "ambi folding" buttstock ?! i mean a folding buttstock that could fold on either side 🤷‍♂️
^if that's the case then...i dunno what else to say...

I still have high hopes with Trichy and wish it from bottom of my heart that they just don't blindly kopy paste it but use their own fucking brains to make a true equivalent to what we are getting from russians instead of just experimenting out like this 😒

Naaah, it would be difficult.

If folded to the right, then it would directly interfere with the reciprocating charging handle.
Usually right folding AK stocks have a slight downwards cant so that it can clear the charging slot. In this case the cant would be upwards.

A Chinese red dot sight for....ahem...ahem....crossbows.

What a shame, after OFB even DRDO labs are mounting Chinese optics on their prototypes. I can understand why Col Prasad Bansod had to mount an Airsoft optic on the initial prototypes of ASMI as he must have had a limited budget, but after it became an ARDE project it or any other ARDE prototype should have optics that are of quality from international market or made in India like the BEL Holographic sight or BEL Trinetra, RRP S4E PR-100A, any of the Mepro line made by PLR, etc. Not Chinese junk from Alibaba or airsoft grade stuff from Amazon.

Hell even PLR is using Indian PR100A on their weapon displays.

Umm na; from their point of view, these cheap sights are the most feasible option.

You must understand the fact that DRDO labs and OFBs don't use sights for aiming or zeroing; they use iron sights. The only purpose of all these sights are to woo people (and army) by proving that this gun can be mounted with a cutting edge sight just like other foreign guns. And for this purpose an expensive sight would be a huge loss for them.
