CZ Bren costs $1700-2000 retail in the US
Would have been a far better purchase for us with ToT and further price negotiations, but question remains that why not get an AK instead for cheap which does the same thing or get an AR instead of it’s 5.56 variant for cheap.

CZ Bren 807 was specifically developed for our multi calibre tender, don’t know why it didn’t go through.
@Johny_Baba @ezsasa any insights on how the gun fared and does it suit our conditions?
after pak selected CZ Bren 807, no chance of it being selected in india.

article from 2016:

good old days when zarvan was so excited about this news, since CPEC was about to make pak very very very rich.

But didn’t Pakistan select it 4 years ago? Still no news regarding this. They say the cost is prohibitively high for them

Pak has not selected CZ BREN 807 even though it was offered, Ruskies played smart they told India that they are selling AK-103 to Pakistan and selling “superior” AK-203 to India, while the AK-103 Pakistan is receiving has new AK pistol grip, upper P-rail on dust cover and a rail on lower handguard, and hence it is still an AK-103 with little modifications, and while the AK-203 we are receiving has adjustable buttstock replaced with fixed foldable buttstock, rail from upper handguard removed. So technically it is still an AK-203 but watered down. Hence Indian and Pakistani army standard issue rifle’s gonna be same, literally same just sold to both countries with different chooran, sold Pakistan with Hopium and India with Copium.
