Seems like 6.8x43 has better muzzle velocity than 5.56x45 then? If so then shoving off MCIWS was a big mistake.
The Sig Sauer NGSW is using 6.8x51 so it can use a lot of the parts of MCX and Sig 716 family of weapons to retain commonality with 7.62x51 rifles s theoretically the NGSW can be converted into a 7.62x51 NATO rifle with ease just by changing the barrel. If I’m not wrong even the mag of the Sig NGSW needn’t be changed for this conversion.

Barrel is easily 18”, how is he going to use it properly? Appropriate barrel length would have been 16” or 14.5”. And can anyone tell me that CZ BREN is better than FN SCAR, how and why? And is CZ BREN a copy of FN SCAR or not.
MK-1 design of CZ Bren was a direct copy of SCAR. Mk-2 has made some modifications.

? uhh not true at all, i mean Sig's NGSW-R (and NGSW-AR machine gun too in extent) are completely new designs on their own and aren't exact part of AR family, rather the bolt design etc is heavily based on their own SIG MPX (yes the SMG those NSG guys bought) which is inspired from AK bolt design mostly i believe, so yeah...

Haven't you checked patent of SIG NSGWs yet ?
Check and compare internals of NGSW-R with a typical AR pattern rifle, you shall see it that except perhaps trigger group and pistol grip and such minor things nothing is common between them so very unlikely that NGSW-R could tanke parts from current SIG MCX or SIG716 families; MPX family ? cannot say much as apart from MCX derived bolt in NGSW-R design it is also given new bolt carrier and gas system and so.

also note for mods @LurkerBaba @ALBY @ezsasa @Shaitan @hit&run @tarunraju,
requesting for pdf frame feature for the forum so that members can directly read various shared pdfs on forum itself, like you know many websties could have pdf readers embedded in it using iFrame or typical embed tag with type="application/pdf" or a js library like mozilla's pdf.js ( link - https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/ ) and so

When I meant similar I meant , that barring the charging handle, the externals are similar to existing Sig firearms as mentioned by themselves in their own promotional videos and they them selves have said there are common parts with the MCX and 7.62 nato pattern rifles of sig which I’m assuming is the 716, so it won’t be a massive training jump for troops if and when they switch to this.
Their rationale of using 6.8x51mm round is to maintain commonality with existing 7.62 NATO platforms. Again not my words, this is the words of the Sig rep on the YouTube channel Task and Purpose.

Do you guys think we dropped the ball to early on the MCIWS platform(not talking about the multi caliber feature), since it’s one of the few ARDE platforms that can be modernised or do we just give up on indigenously designed firearms and atleast hope for indigenously manufactured firearms instead?
Will we face any problems with spares for firearms if we ever face sanctions or blockades if we buy or locally manufacture firearms like the SIG 716i? Are they as dependent on foreign spares like high end weapon platforms like fighter jets etc, can they weed out a long time without needing too much imports?
@Johny_Baba and other senior members what do you guys think?
