I remember the SCAR being a hot topic in early 2000s in weapon enthusiast's nests. The chief reason why SCAR H was developed was because a lot of US troops found their M4s to be ineffective during firefights in Afghan and Iraq(before). They found that regular Afghani AKMs did much better job and much reliable in desert sandstorm like environments and had much higher stopping power which eased breaching of local barriers. Plus this was cheap and easily available at local Afghan arms market, others were retreived from dead Talibanis. Special force operators started prefering AKMs over their issued rifles. This led to US opting for a much higher power 7.62 NATO round and a battle rifle that would take immense beating and still work like a charm.
SCAR H was ordered then for the troops but being expensive, only few 1000s were ordered. In 2013, the SCAR L orders given by Army were rejected and in place, more SCAR H were ordered.
This info is for people that thump their chest and lobby for SCAR Ls.

So basically, SCAR family was ordered only for it's Battle rifle role and not as a 5.56 platform at all.

It’s the Bushmaster ACR not FN SCAR.

These guys are not innovative and don't think outside of the box!! They want to make the armed forces remain obsolete
I mean it’s the only force which gives bullpups to SF, even Israelis and Brits themselves don’t use Bullpups for SF.
