That’s an innpvative stock design, but won’t reduce weight by much.

Suppresor usage is becoming a norm even in US infantry and but even our spec ops use suppresors rarely .

Increases the weight and length of the rifle. The suppressed rifles used by US SF are short barreled ones which results in short range which may be a non issue for SF, but for general infantry it poses multiple challenges. Plus the cost factor too. In the case of our SFs putting suppressors in full length rifles used at present might not be that user friendly.

Putting a Suppresor on a Sig-716i with 16 inch barrel and you end up with a rifle similar in length to SLR (which was replaced due to its big unwieldly form factor).

Also with a DI rifle when you put a suppressor you with get increased amount of toxic gases released close to your face.

Though FALs have been used in DMR role with scopes (in CRPF) but they can acheive at best 2-3 MOA precision.
Sig-716i with a heavy chrome lined 20 inch barrel can acheive (0.5-1 MOA), and be ideally suited for a DMR role to 700-800 m with good quality scope.

What is intersting is that barrels are available for sale from many third party parts manufacturers in USA.

The most amazing thing is that aks which are wrongly considered inaccurate took 34 rounds to finish the course to 500 yards with iron sight.however in the same course tavor 21 with mepro sight couldn't finish the course as 40 bullets were spend on reaching 450 yards alone LOL

A 10.3 inch AR in the same channel completed the course with only 24 bullets.so carbines in 5.56 can be accurate.
