CAR-816 14.5” is something I feel will be good, but IWI Arad 14.5 is miles ahead of it.

They will always be unhappy lol
Theres a reason, they specifically made a rifle called AK-308 for Indian Army, but India went to Uncle Sam.

Best solution is upgrade as many AK-47s as possible, and scrap AK-203. Upgraded AKs will be sufficient for RR.

Most of the AKs in the Indian army are at the end of their lifespans and it is cheaper to buy newer AKs and sights than using the mod kits, also due to the number of AK variants that exist they’ll need to buy multiple varia of the kits.

We could have simply gone for Arsenal arm5f then. Far more cheaper and also has quad rails

But only 2 companies in a battalion will get them.
Better than sig sauer 716 limited to frontline troops alone right?? Plus in the article it says all battalions and all companies within the battalions are to be replaced by 716. By the reading the article one thing is for sure the army really likes the rifle especially the calibre and modularity it provides and I really hope it becomes the standard issued rifle just like FN FAL was to us!!

We have captured ones too , we operate type 56 ( chene, got from tangos )
Mpi km ( east German , probably imported or got from tangos but mostly tangos following Soviet withdraw from Afghan)
Pm MD 63 ( Romanian clone of ak 47 ,not even akm
Pm md 90 ( Romania clone of pm MD 63 )
Arsenal ar ( since home mantralaya was importing , raksha mantralaya too imported them , mostly stock went to capf )
Various Soviet captured pieces too .

They are old and Israelis will milk us , Fab is a Israeli company right ? right.
It's better replace all this hochpoch and get ak 203 for all , since fauj wants import hi import , let them import or make them here in tot , what's the issue.
6 lakh 75 thousand rifles are needed.
Here were talking about standard issue weapon , new recruits will train on ak 203 , like they did on slr and insas
Insas has to be replaced , army procurement policy is botched up , atleast I hope they show some uniformity in rifles at least.

In the article it says only 2 companies in a battalion will get the Sig 716, read it properly.
Also what is the strength of the Indian infantry?
