I am not going to be critical to AK-203 since its replacing insas of all rifle. If AK-74M look like this, then it's good for our basic infantry!!

In official Kalashnikov concern media release, the 74M will look much much different
This one is a heavily modded(with Umriki stuff) 74m
We don't have provisions to kit it out and exploit it to the full,
We don't have the original M4 style stock, we don't have the Notch in Fire selector, the original 203 had rails in all 12' , 9' , 6' , 3', positions
And for this we're paying 1000 bucks,
But in terms of uniformity it brings atleast that to the table

Simple solution: Modernize the existing Insas (1B1 and later models which don't have any manufacturing defects) to the Bullpup configuration design developed by Lt. Col. Bansod. This is the most cost-effective and timely solution for emergency carbine requirement and can be done on Army Base depots only.

Otherwise wait for years and years for the procurement file to progress in MOD offices.

Even the buttstock and rails not available?? I really thought that fixed buttstock can be replaced by modded stock!!

Exactly
Butt stock they changed
My question is, why would you purchase a fixed stock in the first place only to be replaced by a mod kit, same thing go for the top cover with P-rails
Does buying after saves money or something 😑😑

Sorry state of affairs, but I heard that IA Infantrymen really are comfortable with Fixed buttstock because they got used to it, we have to look at that side as well. But irking me are there no rails for upgrades??

The rails are not "optimal" very like what you see on a ghatak, only a little bit more better
The top rails and the stock is what gets me

Look how they massacred our boy
Going by your statement it's miles ahead of Insas, but nowhere near modern, it's just a 103 with top cover and handguard modified(you can tell by the rivets and the stock attachment, Russians are greasing us ekdum first class), even the muzzle device is the same, not saying that's a problem

Foldable ak stocks are generally tougher compared to collapsible stocks and can withstand some abuse. Soldiers tend to buttwhack, guess some kashmiri moron intruding into encounter area will get smacked with it.

I still can't figure out any logic behind omission of railed front handguard and thumb extension in fire selector which there for easier manipulation of selector. I mean there is no significant cost savings as well.

AK-47 known to be dirt cheap, we’re paying 1100 bucks each, lol.
