Actually not a bad idea, I completely forgot the JVPC existed, in fact the RPF could be a great test bed for large scale adoption of the gun and ammo based logistics issues wouldn’t as much of a problem for them as it would for other forces who are deployed in conflict areas.
The question is how will slow MoD or MHA do anything?

I watching a video on you about the US’s new standard issue Sig P320, that’s when I remembered even we are due for a new standard issue pistol, was wondering if the 5.56x30mm round could be used as a pistol round. Similar to the Belgian FN 5.7x28 and Chinese 5.8x42 rounds.
Idk much about the ballistics of the round, cuz if it’s actually feasible to adopt the Minsas round, it could lead to the adoption of the JVPC, and phase out the 9mm round atleast for the regulars and atleast solve some of the ammo complexity issues in the armed forces.

Only compatible options are IWI Carmel, Sig MCX, our OFB carbine, AK pattern carbines ?
SiG MCX will be too damn expensive, but we can’t judge right now, SiG reduced their bid from 1400 dollars per rifle to 990 dollars per rifle for the SiG-716, yes the DI system upgradation reduced costs but still they gave a lower bid and we got the best bang for the buck, if SiG does itagain for MCX then I’m more than happy seeing MCX in Indian Army as a carbine, it’s truly nexgen stuff. Arad is a great gas operated assault rifle as well, highly modular and lightweight, has M-Lok rails snd an 11.5” barrel offering.

CAR-816 is a nice rifle as well, but it still uses the old picattiny rails, has a 10.5” barrel, is heavier but made by a company that is not old enough, it is a new company who just made a rifle with people who designed the SiG-516 and HK-416.

But SiG MCX can’t fulfill the weight criteria, thecarbine should not be heavier than 3.3kg, MCX is 3.4kg.

Carmel length is more than 806mm army says max length is 800mm.this rfi is more defined than the usual rfi army provide in which no rifle on earth can participate.

SiG MCX is 3.4kg heavier than the required no more than 3.3 kg, only Arad fulfils the RFI, it just weighs 2.85kg despite being a gas operated rifle, wow.
