This time mostly army may select a carbine then OFB will be like we make cheaper we are world class randi rona and OFB idiots may chop the buttstock of ak203 and say its carbine and army will buy it.
I don’t understand the Indian Army fetish, according to them short barreled rifles with 5.56 NATO are deadly as fuck, and 5.56 NATO assault rifles lack stopping power, lol.

SiG MCX is 3.4kg heavier than the required no more than 3.3 kg, only Arad fulfils the RFI, it just weighs 2.85kg despite being a gas operated rifle, wow.
Arad does not have a folding stock, a 0.1 kg increase in weight may not really make much of a difference in selection, only thing holding back the MCX is cost.

We do the L1 crap so if both rifleA and rifleB both pass testing then L1 goes to the lowest bidder.so if MCX has to get selected all other rifles have to fail in testing but in that case there will be a single vendor situation.so basically our system is shit.

MCX is the best thing we can get if Indian Army boomers don’t spoil it, what’s the price?

The deal is for 110 million dollars for 93895 carbines, so the unit cost of each carbine should be 1171 dollars.
Well in competitive process prices will fall for individual rifle.sig may bring its ace up the sleeve like battle rifle deal

SiG reduced price for SiG-716i because of DI system which made it cheaper than earlier offered gas operated one, and then reduced price to get the deal, SiG-716i in USA costs 1399 dollars, exactly what was offered to us earlier, MCX costs 2233 dollars in USA and there won’t be any operating system changes as then MCX will not remain an MCX then. At max they can offer at 1800 dollars per carbine.
