As time goes on I think a clearer picture is emerging.
Pakis wanted to create a massacre that would force Modi to face unprecedented public anger luring him into another Balakot which Pakis would then use to escalate and then get Trump involved
Modi govt knew what was happening and mobilised on a massive scale to subvert paki plans
Indian intel/security and leadership worked very well and were 3/4 steps ahead of Pakis
But this is all. Nothing more. Nothing less.
All this BS about 370/35A and trifurcation are just fantasies created by children and or vested interests (valley politicians) trying to stoke fear.
Instead of celebrating a successful security operation this will now be used to attack Modi for creating panic and or failing to deliver on 370/35 etc.
It will be something related to changes in the state for sure. Either 35A or 370.
People are misinformed about constitutional provisions. The government can repel these laws just by presidential order. The Governor of JK can act on behalf of the constituent assembly and notify the president. Once you trifurcate(a matter of state constitutional assembly which can be represented by governor), then article 370 and 35A vanish automatically as there is no state of Jammu & Kashmir left where these laws will apply.
If it was just for anti-terror ops, why would you house arrest these kashmiri "leaders", send 80,000 troops when you already have the intelligence? India's troop presence is already high in JK and to control any movement by Porkis, one doesn't need additional 80k troops. You just need intelligence.
We also blow out of proportion what Trump said. He only mentioned that he is ready to meditate IF Modi is ready. Modi is not ready so no meditation. US State Department has also released a clarification regarding this. Pakistan has been trying to internationalize the Kashmir issue since the last 70 years and they have failed even when US absolutely relied on Porkistanis for troop supplies in AF.
The buildup essentially ensures that the IA is freed up to tackle Na-Paki army on the borders and they don't have to do riot control jobs. PA is expected to do some misadventures in the aftermath of Trifurcation.
