This one is killed by Gorkhas opposite Bhimber gali according to @hammer head
No idea about SSG N
Did any BJP member really said that? I only heard SM and Media channels calling it surgical strike.surgical strikes toh ab mazak bana ke rakh diya hai.
Any raid becomes surgical strike for BJP.
What nonsense is this?
Mara hai na, ek Lieutenant ko, amongst those 10 Pakis.chuchundar nahi bada magarmach pakdo ........................
Exactly, and the thing is some people dont understand.surgical strikes toh ab mazak bana ke rakh diya hai.

SSG N ka kya scene hein?Mara hai na, ek Lieutenant ko, amongst those 10 Pakis.
http://www.theweek.in/news/india/in...rike-react-quickly-and-strongly-pakistan.html.....These raids have been going for a long time and dont need central govts permission.Infact everday Ghataks train for such raids.
Such ops are going for a long time and actually except the attack on terror camps in POK every other has been done before.http://www.theweek.in/news/india/in...rike-react-quickly-and-strongly-pakistan.html

According to the military establishment, the Indian Army over a period of time, especially after the June 2015 'hot pursuit' into Myanmar, has changed its strategy to react immediately to enemy action. And also to publicly acknowledge it.
....
Army sources also maintained that it has become a necessity to admit to operations publicly before it takes a wrong sentiment. They gave the example of the beheading of two Indian soldiers in January 2013 by a border action team comprising militants and regulars from the Pakistani Army. The then Army Chief General Bikram Singh reportedly responded by saying that Indian Army will take action at the time and place of its choice. Eventually, it led to lot of public anger and put the political leadership under pressure.
....
"From Myanmar to the surgical strike, we have adopted a strategy to take revenge as early as possible. And our stance was also changed and we don't hesitate to admit our soldiers' daring act. Over a period of time, it has become a norm to react immediately,"said a senior army officer, while adding that political leadership has left the decision with the Army to respond in a manner it wants to.
....
More than the 2016 SS, it was the 2015 SS into Myanmar that was truly a watershed moment. The political executive authorized and worked with IA to execute the operation. Later on this gave confidence to General Dalbir Singh to work out a plan for Pakistan, which was employed when Uri happened. I see this from Nitin Gokhale's book and also the interviews by General Dalbir and Hooda on TV this year. The current COAS was involved in 2015 operation - so Army brass is very much in tune with 'commando' operations. Do read above article.
So you can see how the political blessing is making a difference in Army's attitude and confidence.
Now the Christmas operation was a relatively small one, but was against PakArmy and hence significant. Calling it a SS v2.0 or mini-SS is all a creation of the media. There is no public statement by Army, MoD or MEA.
Look, we all know that a sniper was killed on 24th. Ain't it?SSG N ka kya scene hein?
I think only one SSG has been killed.
Can be a Sniper and spotter killed because snipers dont work alone.Specially Special forces sniper wont work with regulars.Look, we all know that a sniper was killed on 24th. Ain't it?
.
The pic I posted of Facebook's Arif Ullah is an SSG Commando himself saying that SSG(N) Commando Faisal Shah's janaza was on 25th December, 3pm. Now the cross border raid didn't happen until 5-6pm on that day. Moreover, this Arif Ullah didn't cite reasons of his death nor pics of his dead body (which raises suspicions) and hence the possibility is that SSG(N) Shah Faisal was the sniper himself who was killed on December 24th
yes it should be en so be it. Its time to move on agressive posture.Indian media coverage needs to be controlled on LoC skirmishes. They r portraying this as revenge and surgical strike 2. Are we playing cricket match to cheer for every 4 and six . Bhakts resorted to chest thumbing and selling blood of our martyrs. Pathetic
Army did the operation, who needs justifications from alliens not involved in operational planning in the firsts place. Its sad some retired army professionals do lip sink with politicians especially congress leaders closet anti national scums.
I'm sure no service man will support this mindless boasting and media coverage.

To @raja696 and Dushyant (the person who responded to Lt. Cdr. Gokul).Army did the operation, who needs justifications from alliens not involved in operational planning in the firsts place. Military historian and strategic affairs expert Mandeep Singh Bajwa, while welcoming the Myanmar operation, said he could count at least two dozen instances since 1947 when India struck inside enemy territory. "I suppose the new government needs to be asked how it thinks militancy in Punjab ended and how it was curbed in Kashmir. When Pakistan started supporting the Khalistan movement and there were terror attacks on our cities, Rajiv Gandhi decided he had had enough of it. Pakistani cities like Lahore, Multan and Karachi were bombed, which Pakistan claimed were done by RAW. This forced General Zia to sue for peace through the Prince of Jordan and promise withdrawal of support to Sikh militancy," says Bajwa.
Major General Ian Cardozo (Retd), a veteran of the 1962, '65 and '71 wars, is furious that the details of the Myanmar operation came to the public domain. "Politicians have always been irresponsible, but what happened to our Army? It's in the interest of India that the armed forces which have been doing covert ops do so in the future. You don't announce bare details of operations or even the intent to strike at the enemy deep inside his territory. In Pakistan, they will be waiting for us now that we are shouting about it in TV studios. And an embarrassed Myanmar may not cooperate again," he says.
Source: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com...s-should-stay-covert/articleshow/47658995.cmsIn 1971, some very large-scale covert and overt operations were conducted without the Press hearing about it. One of them was Operation Jackpot under which Mukti Bahini commandos were aided and abetted by India to blow up Pakistan's naval assets in the east. This was long before the actual war. "Even before that, there was Operation Windfall where we silently moved two mountain divisions, one towards Balurghat and the other towards Jessore and Khulna. Initially, troops went across in civilian clothes, then in uniform. Pakistanis were completely outclassed and outsmarted by the Indians. That's how wars are fought and won," says Bajwa.
If your enemy knows, it is no longer covert. Since this operation is known by Pakistan, why call it covert? To @raja696 and Dushyant (the person who responded to Lt. Cdr. Gokul).
Lt. Cdr. Gokul did not criticize the military action. He criticized the boasting.
I agree with Lt. Cdr. Gokul. Covert actions should remain covert. Covert actions have been carried out for decades without the boasting. When politicians boast about it, they do it to boost their own popularity with the public. However, this puts political pressure on the adversary country (Pakistan in this case) to escalate so as not to lose face in front of their own public.

This also applies to India as well. Definitely pakis will plan another similar act in LoC. Will India escalate? Are we going to continue this ?To @raja696 and Dushyant (the person who responded to Lt. Cdr. Gokul).

Yes. Let them execute similar act. They will get another round of bashing. Let Pak escalate. They will get a matching or disproportionate response every time. Because the narrative has changed. Now nobody questions India's actions or calls us aggressor. World at large know Pak acts irresponsibly. And the home audience is all the more happy. This also applies to India as well. Since September 2016 cross border raid by Indian army this tit for tat is happening. After that 3 incidents of beheading happened in LoC . I dont see any escalatiion from india.Yes.
