J&K Govt creates ‘correction home’ for stone-pelters


Kashmir’s stone-pelters will have a new address now: Pulwama.

According to a highly placed source, Kashmir’s first ‘correction home’ has come up at Pulwama where stone-pelters will “undergo multi-faceted help to give up the violent behaviour and become normal.”


A formal order to this effect has been already issued, the source said, adding that the Home would operate from the premises that was supposed to be the district jail.

The building that was earlier with armed forces was reclaimed and readied for the district jail and shall now be exclusively used for “managing stone pelters who are not juveniles,” the source said.

The state’s Prisons department will manage the Home while the state home ministry will fund it, the source said.

Just an antidote which is sure to fail..but then nobody can blame India if we take strict measures after methods are put in place for kashmiris.
Its one chance for stone pelter career to be turned into something worthy of not losing an eye or a limb and a begging career for the rest of the life..

I expected this push during Mid 2018 so that a strong case can be built up by UNGA 2018.

Well I remember an Urdu newspaper in Pakistan reported in early 2016 quoting a security source there were 900 civilian deaths on Pakistani side of LoC since 2001.
We know Pakis reported ~100 civilian deaths since Sept 2016.
So based on that 1000 civilian casualties appear to be for 2001-17.

I think Paki Army casualties are something approximately like this:

2001-2003: 180 killed.
2004-2015: 60 killed.
2016 onwards: 60 killed.
