Nope... It depends on what US, Russia and China are willing to sacrifice in terms of relations with India, by going with Pakistan on article 35a, article 370; and how much is India ready to sacrifice in the process of repealing these articles... There will be a limit, until which these countries will push India. Beyond that they won't go... For eg: if Russian control of Crimea was at stake, then Russia would shed copious amounts of blood for it... But, it will not do the same for influence in Afghanistan/Pakistan...

I actually feel nothing will happen right now because this is not the style in which Modi has operated while taking any major decisions. All major decisions have come in as a surprise, bolt from the blue. This whole buildup for weeks is not his style.

What might happen is all this i.e. heightened levels of forces etc becomes a status quo. And then few weeks/month down the line something big happens.

What you're saying is possible. But keeping this a complete secret wasn't really a possibility - due to the large amount of troops needed to carry it out.

Nothing of this sort will happen either with 35A,370 or Trifurcation. Yes there will be lot of chatter, liberal media both national and international will fume but internationally at official level nothing will happen.
Ofcourse the local handlers will be activated. Hue and cry will be raised by Congress,Leftist, Civil Society. More terrorist attacks will happen.

I really like this, would be great to see India put the ball in Pakistan's court. Either force Pakistan to completely stand down in humiliating fashion, constituting a massive landmark shift; or pretty much bait/force them into a conflict that they aren't remotely prepared for or capable of withstanding.

I don't think China and Russia will say much beyond a vague 'concern for the tension in Kashmir'. Their Kashmir interest lies in PoK and GB. 35A and 357 doesn't affect those. They ain't gonna jeopardise Indian relations due to things that won't affect them at all.

Conversely, decisive moves on Kashmir would drive Pak to bolster their relations with these countries and hedge their bets.

It's the USA that feels too comfortable meddling. I have a weird feeling that what Trump said about Kashmir might have been really discussed with him. But it was discussed as a measure US would take with Pak after GoI scraps the articles. But he, as alwas, jumped the gun
