Kashmir Separatists Under Government Scanner Over Children Living Abroad

In the last three years years, schools and colleges in Kashmir have been shut for over 240 days due to frequent shutdowns in the wake of bandhs and protest calls given by separatist


Kashmiri separatists are under scanner for sending their children and relatives to foreign countries for education and jobs. Union Home Ministry has come up with a list of over 200 family members of separatists who are living in different countries.

In the last three years, schools and colleges in Kashmir have been shut for over 240 days due to frequent shutdowns in the wake of bandhs and protest calls given by separatists.

But as the large number of school and college going students in the valley suffer, children of many Hurriyat leaders study and work abroad.

The two sons of jailed Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi are studying in Malaysia and Australia. Hurriyat leader Bilal Lone's children are studying in London and Australia. The two sons of Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Chairman, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat studied abroad and are now working in Saudi Arabia. The two grandchildren of Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani work in Pakistan and Turkey.

"The problem is, once they do it they must also think about other people they claim to be representing. They have been frequently calling for shutdowns in the Kashmir valley... but after the data we have with us now, they have forfeited their right to call for shutdowns," said Ahmad Ali Fayaz, a Srinagar based journalist.






However, local leaders dispute(classic ndtv syndrome) moment this. Shah Faesal, officer-turned-politician, says everyone has a right to send their children for education anywhere.

"Everyone has a right send their children abroad for education. If any other politician has right to send his children abroad, I think Hurriyat leaders also have a right," he said.




According to officials records, not just children but apparently over the years, many separatists have sent most of their relatives abroad. Officials now say they are investigating how these people are being funded and if there are any Hawala links as well.

Officials say it is for the first time centre has shown its intent(spine) to act against separatists on this count to expose their hypocrisy.

India’s diplomatic missions and offices in Kabul and Kandahar have been put on high alert after intelligence inputs indicated that cadre of terror groups Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have shifted to Kunar, Nangarhar, Nuristan and Kandahar provinces of Afghanistan after the Indian Air Force’s strike on the Balakot terror camp. Indian Air Force (IAF) Mirage jets attacked JeM’s Balakot terror camp at Manshera in Pakistan, retaliating to the February 14 attack by a Jaish suicide-bomber on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir. According to documents reviewed by Hindustan Times, both the Pakistan-based proscribed groups have joined hands with the Afghan Taliban and Afghan insurgent group, Haqqani Network, across the Durand Line that separates Pakistan from Afghanistan, for training their extremist cadre in subversive activity. It is perhaps due to this reason that the Modi government has not taken at face value the action taken by Pakistan’s Imran Khan government on July 1-2 on 15 over-ground LeT leaders and five charity organisations linked to terror funding. India has called for visible and verifiable action against armed terror groups and not window-dressing. Indian security agencies believe that the terrorist cadre’s shift to across the Durand Line has been done to avoid black-listing of Pakistan by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)?in its Paris conference later this year. The multilateral body formed to crack down on cross-border money laundering and terror financing has been extremely critical of Pakistan and placed it on a grey list. Indeed, people familiar with the matter in India’s counterterror agencies say that even as Pakistan was launching its July actions, Indian diplomatic establishments, including the embassy in Kabul, were under threat from a heavily-armed group of JeM terrorists led by Haji Abdul Safi. The revelation about increased JeM footprint in Afghanistan came when two of its terrorists, identified as Sediq Akbar and Ataullah were arrested by Afghan National Security Force in January this year from Jalalabad while they were en-route to Kabul. Trained at Markaz Usman-e-Ali in Bhawalpur and Balakot terror camps, the two revealed that they had been tasked to conduct surveillance on Indian interests in Kabul and Kandahar. Apart from this, LeT has established training centres for its cadre in Nangarhar, Nuristan, Kunar, Helmand and Kandahar provinces of Afghanistan. It has moved its cadre from Peshawar to Kabul, and also decided to train its cadre in subversion and sabotage with the help of Taliban. A recent Pentagon report noted that the LeT, with more than 300 fighters in Afghanistan, posed a significant threat to the US and allied forces. In 2001 the insurgency was at its peak and so does the counter insurgency operations of Indian Army. Intrusions and elimination of intruders became a common thing for army. Attempts after attempts were bitting dust because the Indian Army was too vigile to be defeated. That’s where Pakistanis did what they do after every defeat they either kill innocents or attack from back. This time they crossed the , they were continuously intruding a sector close to LOC, were killing the Bakarwals, beheading them and stealing their animals. The Gujjars reached army for the help and 9 Para got the opportunity to avenge the attacks. The CO of 9 himself took charge to teach pakis a good and an unforgettable lesson.

Operation Apache was a company level operation of 9 Para SF started from a LOC hugging sector. It is believed that the operation was so secret that even the government doesn’t know about it. The operation was special and so critical that the CO of battalion of that time was leading the operation. This was one of the major operation to restore peace for the farlanders of Kashmir.

Operation Apache begins, in pitch dark night around 70 men of 9 Para SF crossed the LC. The target was intentionally choosed to be an area which is just a kilometer away from one of the biggest brigade of Pakistani Army. 9 Para surprised the bastards and by mere presence of that size of force pakis pissed and shit in their pants. Lt. A and Lt. N just cleared the life soaking probation and now they are witnessing why 9 is taken by enemy on high regards. Pakistanis recognized 9 by the very first sight. 9 confirm the identity of enemy and the masaccare begun. This time the mountain rats showed up on their faces and started picking heads one by one, no one was spared and it was happening just around the corner of Pakistani brigade.

In between the operation a 6 feet 4 inch pakistani pathan soldier tried to kill an operative by stabbing him in the back but he was silenced within a second. The operative still got some injury but retreat wasn’t an option that night, he was treated right there by medics and the operation stayed on, with the level of blood spilled that night 9 sent a clear message to the neighbors that there are people on the opposite side of the border who knows how to keep warm relations with neighbors.

It is known that indian army has conducted many surgical strikes on the enemy after kargil 1999 ,time has come to change the LoC ,acc to new intelligence reports paki army has used more than half it's ammunition especially field guns and there is fatigue in the enemy case in point is it using a paki navy asw asset near PoK when it has Swedish & Chink AWACS ,I am waiting for the time when dhanush and ATAGS are inducted in huge numbers ,it will really make paki squeak like a street dog
