They are feeding them 'salo'- not sure if this is a pisstake🤣🤣. Salo is regarded as typifying the crudeness and lack of sophistication of the Ukrainian people who are commonly mocked as 'saloedi' (salo eaters) etc by the Russians.

Population doesn't mean shit if most of them are living in pre-industrial agrarian society. Neither do we have some super important resources (like oil or gas), nor do we have IP or mastery of some high tech industry like taiwan. Even for software industry we don't own much IP.
Then you are basically saying that we don’t need to worry about sanctions. If most of our population are living in pre industrial agrarian society they re basically immune to the effects of sanctions. We can simply shrug it off and carry on by finding new markets. Look our nation was once the richest nation in the world for centuries without the help of any foreign power. There’s no reason to think we can’t do it again.

Those were baby sanctions. If we get sanctioned as hard as Russia, our economy will be completely fucked.
For a while but we will learn to adapt and overcome these sanctions. Sanctions have a diminishing return to it. It hurts for the first couple months but as you figure it out to get around them they become nothing and you find yourself having greater freedom.

so despite our size and military we have to bow meekly to US whims? Nah fuck that shit. I think you seriously underestimate the power of Indian people standing up and say to the western world to fuck off and the western world will respect that.
Look mate, even i would have said F*CK USA! had India been a 15-20 trillion $ industrial behemoth with a population that was well educated and with decent human development index.

But the reality is that we are a very poor country with an impoverished population and serious socio economic situation.Even under normal situation Indians live under immense hardship, just imagine what would be the situation under sanctions.

What “mental masturbation’ I simply pointed to the fact that Ukrainian have been making many propaganda based claims that even some western press is acknowledging. I further acknowledged that Russian aircraft are not invisible and they have lost some helicopters.

The funny part is how US brainwashed so many with US Rambo style propaganda. US ‘experts’ seem shocked Russia has not destroyed all of Ukraine’s air defense batteries and aircraft in 8 days. :eek1:

Newsflash, NATO aircraft were getting shot down weeks into the Gulf War. Iraqi aircraft were still operational and airborne weeks after the invasion. Ukraine is a huge country, with lots of heavy vegetation and urban areas where they can hide air defense batteries.

Over Yugoslavia US lost one F-117 and one F-16, plus several helicopters, an additional F-117 was damaged. Yugoslavian forces fire up to 700 missiles. Clearly the US didn’t do that great of a job if so many missiles were fired.

SEADS missions are also nearly impossible if air defenses don’t have their radars active, otherwise there is nothing for anti radiation missile to hone onto and nothing to jam.

Here is a list of 86 US aircraft damaged or shot down during the gulf war. This is just US, the British had a very poor attrition rate especially with tornados but that is not even included.

Ukrainians have much more formidable air defenses then Yugoslavia and Iraq. Ukraine is also much larger and heavily forested. So far the war is ongoing, and we don’t know the full extent of how many Ukrainian air defense batteries have been destroyed, we don’t know how many times they fired at Russians aircraft, we don’t know how many sorties Russians have flown, how many aircraft they used or how many aircraft they lost.
Aircrafts are lost during SEAD and DEAD missions.. One cannot dominate enemy airspace without taking risks.. Just like India lost more air craft to enemy fire over west Pakistan, than PAF lost..
Russian campaign is taking place almost exclusively in eastern Ukraine, and right at Russia's border.. So, for Russia, with its superpower claims, the expectation is certainly higher..

Not when you are trying to switch gear to an overdrive with your economy.. We will get around them for sure..but the international market share which you have carved out for many of your produce goes to many noncompetitive takers cuz the cost of get around will be higher..
It will set us back a decade or so..while our neighbors will have a higher growth trajectory with their economy.

Then time to dump the GE engines and restart our Kaveri program and crank 'em engines out! We need to stop depending on US for success and prosperity. We need to jolt our nation and society into thinking that we only depend on ourselves to be rich just like centuries ago when we were rich on virtue on our talents and skills. We can do it again.
You left something out. It is called independence and freedom. So I'd rather have a handful of S400 batteries and frigates and more importantly, independence and freedom, than $100B IT exports to US

we are heavily reliant on the west on practically all kinds of tech .

we cant even ditch the russians , how are we going to ditch the west or even just US

only result of ur idea is india going into recession/stone age , congress coming back to power

we popped several nukes and got the sanctions slapped on us and not to mention every foreign ngo trying it’s damnest best to prevent BJP and Vajpayee from coming back into power in that crazy election year of 1998 where we had 3 elections. We survived and not only that we thrived.
We survived but I'm sure it delayed our progress and currently it seems like there is a very well entrenched system in place to cause disruptions here. Look at how small protests were flamed up and made to hold the country hostage.

The worst part is not the protest themselves. I don't see the government doing anything to counter these issues at the root.
