When is the privatization of OFB is starting as per government plan.
This can have a massive pushback as people in india are used to socialist like structure. Any deviation might cause unrest.
People in PSU are Aramtalvi ..."lunch ke baad ana" culture should be crushed but expect a massive unrest or even riots.
There is no privatization plan as of now.. only corporatization..

Right order of things would be to tap calls and monitor Email, WhatsApp and Telegram group of the leaders. Any attempt to create organised riots should be thwarted.
The central should also warn all the opposition parties agaisnt it, not politician has the right to fuck with national secuirty.

But knowing what happened in Shaheen Bagh and East Delhi riot Ajit Doval will probably show up and beg the protestors.

Ordnance factory board and PSUs suffer from same ailment - rock bottom productivity and rampant corruption.

General managers are totally ineffective in the face of militant unions.

Short term solution is perhaps corporatization but long term MOD should seriously look beyond OFB.

OFB awaits Army nod for bulk production of 7.62x51mm assault rifles

The Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) is at present uncertain as to when the Indian Army will place orders with its Ishapore Rifle Factory, in West Bengal, so it can begin bulk manufacturing of the 7.62x51mm assault rifle, launched during the ‘Atmanirbhar Week’. With the Central government stressing on its self reliance scheme that hopes to boost manufacturing in India, the defence sector is now relying on indigenous products. A ban was put on import of 101 defence items which included assault rifles of 7.62 mm calibres. An OFB official, requesting anonymity, told The Statesman, “The Ishapore Rifle Factory had developed a prototype of the 7.62x51mm rifle in response to the Uri attack in September 2016 and OFB intended to build a more powerful rifle than its INSAS 5.56 mm calibre rifles. The prototype was developed in a record four months which “impressed” the Ministry of Defence who formed a Project Monitoring Team (PMT) to guide the “developmental” process” “The weapon is now in a perfected stage. But we are unable to begin bulk manufacturing of the rifles till the Army places the orders for its procurement” said the official. The official added that “Board of Officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs had also conducted extensive trials of the assault rifle and termed it a reliable weapon which can be introduced with the paramilitary forces too.” However, the recent Defence Acquisition Council 2020 meeting led to the approval and subsequent announcement of procuring a second batch of about 72000 assault rifles of the same calibre from American SiG-Sauer at a cost of aprrox.780 crore. OFB sources said the Ishapore factory’s lethal 7.62x51mm automatic rifle, with a firing range of 500m, was assembled and test fired at the factory range with “much satisfactory results”. The rifle can fire 300 rounds at a go and has piccatiny rails for mounting sights and other platforms. It was pointed out that Ishapore factory had also manufactured a 7.62 mm calibre semi automatic rifle for the Army during 1962 war with China.

Our IB does not do that stuff.
They should learn a thing or two from J. Edgar Hoover, forgot his name so had to search. This dude was head of FBI and used his powers to get dirt on most of the higher-ups, political class, everyone hated him but never said anything against him out of fear, this dude was BASED! Imagine BJP using it against congis and lefticles, i hope drdo's NETRA is still working, it's a double-edged sword but can be useful.

Union leaders are inside govt pocket, it's never going to happen in first place anyway, in my memory it's probably half a dozen times in this govts regime that defense PSU threaten to do unlimited strike then back track.

all the mujra from union of PSU is to justify monthly 200-500 rs subscription from employees who would otherwise ask "kya kar raheho Vai subscription ka paisa leke ?"

I want to know about whether you guys think that is good or not.

I feel very sad when I hear raw/ib/mea like orgs having no back handed way to resolve things in favor of indian strategic goals.it feels like a lacuna in capabilities which they should be routinely cultivating.

It also makes them less exciting and predictable.

Umm there are three big unions, 2 of them are headed by congis and lefticles and third one is by very own RSS, *sigh*, so atmost RSS one is in government pocket tho highly unlikely, congis and lefticles don't give rat ass about India's security, the way pappu is behaving on twitter or his recent ramdi rona in UP, I don't expect anything from that f*cktard or his party, lefticles are lowest of low so there should be no discussion about it.
These f**kers are paid to get shiet done, they are not doing any favour by doing a half ass work and whole India at this point knows the modus operandi of this leeches, there's literally zero reason to bow to these people. In a private company, their useless asses would have been fired long ago, smh.
It's f**king irritating that these people who are leeching on the tax payer's money can't do a simple job that they were supposed to do. It gets more irritating when I see young ones in the protest, like between 23 to 32 approx, like you piece of shiet at least you should be better behaved than the boomers but what can we do, how many more soldiers needs to die due to their faulty products? How many more times they will go for strike during times of national importance like this? I swear government can shoot them in middle of the road and even their family member with a brain won't come to support them.
Sorry for the rant.

As per Trishul guy, most of the casualties of Ooperation Parakram happened due to de-mining operation. The army did not have automatic de-mining machine then, so the manual de-ming was being done.
Hmm tho we couldn't deny that our army was short on quality equipments. Also I don't like the idea that army is forced to buy low quality OFB products. Is corporatization of OFB will improve anything or it will remain kind of same?:notsure:
