The Polish Army already has upgraded Leo2A4. It would make more sense to go for Leo2A7, for training and logistical commonality.

Also, US is in the process of itself inducting M1A2 sepv3. So at maximum they will offer Poland is something similar to M1A2 T (which they are selling to Taiwan), which is a variant of M1A2 sep V2.

It is always a question of what we want and what we get.
For example, some in Indian Army want T-14 Armata. But at max, Russia will sell downgraded export version T-14S.
Similarly, Poland may want M1A2 Sepv3, but at max US will sell them something similar to M1A2T that they sold to Taiwan.

Well Russians given us T-90s what was the best available to them that time when we ordered
It in first lot in 2002-2003

They given us best Fighter in there inventory
In 1998
When Su-35 was in prototype stage

It's was incompetence of our Bureaucracy and military leadership which never thought about upgrading and innovation

Infact Russians will offer us T-90MS
Multiple times but MOD not budge

We ordered S-400 they given us better deal than China

They given us Supersonic cruise missiles
Technology
When Pakistan got Reverse engineered Tomahawk by Chinese

Nuclear submarines for Training
Consultation in development of first nuclear reactor in SLBM

Not talk about back end Development of a Ballastic missiles programs and space technology

Glad someone finally said this.
We tend to pass buck of our failures on someone else. Just imagine not T-90s or Su 30MKI, we would be fighting Pakistani with sticks and stones waiting for indigenous or western arms.
Fact remain all our wars that were won was largely due to those very Russian weapons. Yes post 1990s chaos, some deals were botched up. But putting all eggs in western arms would be disastrous for us in the longer term.

New top-attack protection cage armor for Russian Armour.
Is it any good?
@Chinmoy @Bleh @Karthi @porky_kicker

It can give a certain degree of protection from various warheads firing at Tank . This cage can disrupt the warhead and also can confuse the fusing mechanism . I am not a tank expert so I don't know how much effective it against modern ATGMs but certainly helps to reduce the impact

@Chinmoy @Bleh @Karthi @porky_kicker

But it increases its silhouette and paints a target on it. Would the protection from top attack be worth it if you are visible from even greater distance?

But, I guess the bars can be camouflaged?

APFSDS are almost immune to Hard-kill APS. As far as I know, Afghanit on Armata was the first APS to claim effectiveness against APFSDS. Ukranian Zaslon is another APS that seems effective against APFSDS. Zaslon is used on Turkish tanks and now Pakistan has approached Ukraine for 200 Zaslon APS. Meanwhile our tanks lack even soft-kill APS. Absolute state of Indian Armour.

Somebody ran simulations on both systems' effectiveness based on open-source info:-

Afghanit:-

Zaslon:-

Zaslon seems more effective if the APS round can get close enough. Afghanit otherwise.
