I think pod was below this IR sensor

It's not even possible as there's no space left and even the engine won't be able to power it

Most likely they are considering 9th hardpoint of the gun. It is not embedded completely inside the body. They have considered it as a hardpoint in many renders..

It is hard to believe that tejas will have removable hardpoint based IR search &.track systems.. it is not just the sensor but it's electronics which takes space no can say how will they do it..

Also this image shows lighting pod is installed below IR sensor.
I don't think we should take this renders seriously.

There is hardly enough space below to fit both at a time pod +ir
Or may be they could even fit it in that empty space between pod & body as we can see.
