Great news. That will help us to Indigenize the AESA technology though it may take a little time.Israel bars AESA radar export to India
The Israeli defence ministry has blocked the potential export sale of Israel Aerospace Industries' EL/M-2052 active electronically scanned array radar to a number of countries, with its action having an immediate impact on the Indian market. The restrictions were imposed following pressure...defenceforumindia.com

At that time aesa was very big thing definetely usa must be pressuring Israel for that.. as they did when india asked BMD system.. anyways must thanks them.it must have propelled uttam even faster at that time..Great news. I don't think I've ever heard or read about it earlier. My guess is- Kuntal Biswas who created the render used his artistic imagination to do a "what if" and HAL just used his render without even checking what it featured. Was the inclusion of the pylon mounted IRST ever mentioned by HAL or any other agency?
As of now only mk1 Variant is delivered total of of 33 Tejas mk1 are delivered 32 single seat and 1 dual seat total were 40 were ordered 8 were dual seat..Itne confusion hai.
Can anybody tell how much tejas deliver to IAF and which variant ?
97 not ordered yet, IAF always delays order by at least 2 yearsAs of now only mk1 Variant is delivered total of of 33 Tejas mk1 are delivered 32 single seat and 1 dual seat total were 40 were ordered 8 were dual seat..
83 and 97 mk1a are ordered, 1st mk1a will be delivered in feb-march.
Its better that way , they should wait for 1-2 years and observe the progress of Mk2 , and then take decision about order-size.97 not ordered yet, IAF always delays order by at least 2 years
I disagree. We need to stabilize the production line and ensure the viability of suppliers. It is all about building that military industrial complex and sustaining it. Dump all the old foreign fighters. MK1A can basically do the job of the upgraded Mirage 2000, Darin 3 Jags and upgraded MiG-29s well. It means no longer depending on foreign vendors for spares and keeping the planes flying. Let Mk2 evolve while we build up Mk1A in numbers and solidify our MIC base. That's more important than waiting to get the latest uber fantasy brochure specsIts better that way , they should wait for 1-2 years and observe the progress of Mk2 , and then take decision about order-size.
We got fresh Mirage2000 spares , Darin3 Jags, AESA program for mig29 , plenty of buffer for MK2 to evolve into proper 4,5++ F16-70 level future fighter jet.

Is Tejas fit to replace those Jaguar jets? there are 160 of them in inventory .Its better that way , they should wait for 1-2 years and observe the progress of Mk2 , and then take decision about order-size.

I think Tejas mk1a is perfect replacement for mig21s, jaguars it felt short for mirages & mig29s although we should still retired them with Tejas mk1A. They are taking alot of budget for maintainance it's logistical nightmare we're keeping 4 jet flying...I disagree. We need to stabilize the production line and ensure the viability of suppliers. MK2 will outperform Jags and M2K. And these jets can very well serve upto 2035.Is Tejas fit to replace those Jaguar jets? there are 160 of them in inventory .
Mk1a that is currently on order can't?MK2 will outperform Jags and M2K. And these jets can very well serve upto 2035.
Mk1A is good mini omnirole aircraft.Mk1a that is currently on order can't?
Does it have lesser weapons payload than the jaguar because it is a smaller plane that's why then?
Even the baseline Tejas Mk1 proved that it can carry out A2G duties better than the Jaguar during Op Gaganshakti 2018.Mk1a that is currently on order can't?
