Why the hell did delivery of Rafale fighter to India have been postponed.

US made F-14 and F-4 shot down over 30 Mirage F-1s in Iraq-Iran war. F-15 shot down 7 Mirages in Gulf War flown by Iraqis.

Several Iran air force were shooted down by Miage F1. Confirmed shoots were :

- 12 F4 (28 oct 1981, 4 dec 1981, 12 dec 1981, 27 jan 1982, 16 july 1982, etc.... ),
- 4 F5 (26 feb 1982, 1st april, dec 1982, dec 1984)
- and at least 3 F14 (5 feb 1988 and 2 x 18 july 1988 thanks to Matra super 530 AAM)
so....

Add that F1 also smashed a US destroyer thanks to exocet....

And to compare single light fighter with heavy dual ones (F14, F15) is quite unfair.
Not the case of Mirage 2000 vs F16, direct competitors. And this match ended by 1-0 for the french plane

There is a plan for everything and it's being followed. Just because its not published by our all knowing press corps doesn't mean anything.

Funny how over 30 Mirages were shot down and you say it's unfair to compare F-14s and F-15s to Mirage F1. One doesn't get to pick and choose who you face in battle. France would be Nazi Germany if it wasn't for US, Brits and the British Indian army too.

It's not in the Dassault hands, but in India's hands.
The 4 first Rafale may be in India in the beginning of october !
The delivery rate is one/month, so add to these first 4, 3 to 4 more up to the end of 2019. more or less.

Yes, unfair to compare a low range 7.4T empty weight to a 13 to 18T empty weight one !!! Absolutely not the same radar size, not the same amount of missiles, not the same range so time available to move, place yourself and combat....

F16 and Mirage 2000 are dancing in the same league : nearly 8T empty weight.

But it's abslolutely usual that you answer like that. Your french bashing is now forum wide known.

If 4 at the end of september, it's possible to add to that figure a max of 8 (6 to 8) up to may 2020.

But it's always possible to create a squad without the final Qty number !

The number of Rafale produced started to increase some years ago. After years to be limited to 11 (minimum rate), and even less than 11 where DELIVERED (not produced) due to modification after first exports contracts.
So you can find below the delivery rate (not produce, this number never fall under 11)
2015:8
2016:9
2017:9
2018:12
2019:26
The number reach in 2019 integrate the delivery of some rafale produced years before but not delivered. That can be explain because for 3 exports contracts, some planes are collected after their are built but have to be tested to integrate some changes asked by the clients, with specifics flight tests.

But because rate has starded to increase some years ago, the number of delivery will grow up, and reach and actual maximum of a little bit more than 2 planes a month. With that simples facts, is not hard to calculate how many planes by month they need to build until may. From october to may, there is 8 month. So...Absolutely no issue to deliver 14 more plane only for India.

And by the way. The process for buy more fighter jet started in 2001 at the all begining of MMRCA process.
Indian partners dragged things during DECADES, They ordered Rafale the 21th of 2016, 3 years ago. The firsts planes will be delivered with, maybe... 2 weeks of late and i hear some indians medias or commentators that are crying or starting to talk about any issue ? Please...Let me laugh...
