- mountain terrains will inhibit line of sight for s400 radar detection against rafale in Himalayan region of ladakh
- elint role can be done by sending UAVs or through satellite.
- samyukta ground electronic warfare system with rafale low flying terrain hugging capabilities and spectra active cancellation tech will be useful in s400 sead operations after updating it threat library system with elint data recorded from UAVs and satellites.
-even if detected it can use xgaurd towed decoys to dodge missiles
-long range anti radiation missile plus in future
hypersonic /supersonic cruise missile will be used for sead role.

P.S one thing one should remember AWACS can somewhat compensate the line of sight issue in mountain region if not full.though will have reduced detection range as close terrain hugging feature in mountain region will inhibit line of sight for any radar either air borne or ground

The current JF-17 only has a max speed of mach 1.6 and a ferry range of 3,500km. I doubt the JF-17 will ever see those big of improvements unless it gets a drastic redesign and far better engines which it won’t.

There is no Chinese missiles capable of 300km and the JF-17 radar wouldn’t be able to take advantage of such a long range missile anyways. The Rafale has the Scalp cruise missile. Pakistan also tried to get French avionics for the JF-17 so the aircraft is lacking.

The Rafale is not “fixed technology”, it has already been upgraded many times and the Indian version is getting some unique avionics and software upgrades.

The cheaper the aircraft, the less sophisticated and crude it would be. It’s like thinking you can match the performance of a Ferrari 450 with a cheap Ford escort which is never happening because the Ferrari has technology that is 50 years ahead of anything in a cheap Ford.

The AESA in the Rafale is FOC since 7 years, and used operationnal experience of the PESA one. Griepen AESA is in a prototyp form.
