as indians are much more advanced than russian if it comes to software and india will take help of israel and french
.
that's why fgfa is called best stealth fighter right now
.
and AMCA will challenge fgfa but both are indigenous so no need to worry .

The Rafale fighter aircraft reached the jet after a brief supersonic flight between the towns of La Roche-sur-Yon and Nantes near the Atlantic coast, where the radio contact was re-established. The passenger jet then pursued its course.

Firefighters in the area said they received a number of phone calls from alarmed residents after the fighter jet broke the sound barrier about 100 kilometres (60 miles) south of Bordeaux at a cruising altitude of 35,000 feet (10,700 metres)

IN Looking for F 35 B .Not the Rafale M

since we have Long way from Catapult Ships
IN already has enough aircraft for IAC-1. (MiG29K + NLCA to follow)

RFP could be for IAC-2 which in most probability will be a CATOBAR.

With the track record of procurement, it will probably take as long as the build time of IAC-2.

Whether If it was CATOBAR we will see Naval FGFA ..

Do you realize that software and integration are the most complex and costly parts???
no sir software integration isn't that hard
.
the hard part is design and hardware integration
.
if you look at design, tejas has much better design than rafale
.
on other hand software integration isn't that hard cause there are modern computers on aircraft and I think you know the lead indians have in IT fields
.

I said software AND integration.
sir, the hardest part during creation of aircraft is its design
.
and noone will ask question about designi of tejas cause @ersakthivel already proved how tejas have a great design
.
because of open architecture we can change avionics and major system any time of tejas
.
I already proved you point of software
.
many asks why iaf spending money 45 million dollar on upgrade of single mirage cause of its design isn't open like tejas
.
while upgrading rafael later iaf will face similar problems but actually because of open architecture that's no problem with tejas
.
now got it why integration of software and integration is not that big problem if it come to tejas but other aircraft faces all this problem including mirage, rafael, gripen etc

Any idea when would India receive its first Unit of Rafale? or its still not decided yet

By the time India would get the first full fledged squadron other airforces would already acquire 5th gen planes and even rolling out 6th gen prototypes.

This whole process need to be scrapped not on account of the Rafale being an inferior plane, but because of lethargic in decision taking.

there is no way pakis will get 5th gen and there is no way chinese will get j20 before fgfa and it will be inferior to fgfa
.
and chinese doesn't have produced a quality plane yet ......
.
and we don't have foes except this two
.
for 6th gen , amca have some futuristic technique which will make it better than other 5th gen
.
though there will be 30 years to go to come a 6th gen plane

French Rafale damages Refueling Probe while taking fuel from U.S. KC-135 tanker over Mali

Taken from a 100th ARW (Air Refueling Wing) KC-135 Stratotanker during what seemed to be (at least until then) a routine aerial refueling mission in support of Operation Serval, in Mali, the above image shows a French Air Force Rafale jet breaking to the left to separate from the tanker after the tip of IFR (In Flight Refueling) probe was severely damaged.

According to the Escadron de chasse 01.091 "Gascogne", who posted the image, the aircraft, with full load of weapons, was refueling from the U.S. tanker in turbulent air due to an intertropical front.

A sudden and violent oscillation impossible for the pilot to compensate, forced the Rafale to disconnect from the tanker's refueling hose causing a cloud of fuel to surround the cockpit and the basket to hit the probe of the receiver, damaging it.

As a consequence, the Rafale immediately separated from the tanker and, unable to return to N'Djamena, it proceeded to the nearest divert field, where it safely landed.
