Sorry, Tomahawk only uses hardened warhead but Storm Shadow in the diagram uses a shaped warhead to punch initial hole wherefrom the main warhead goes into, a smarter arrangment.

F35 is IOC, can't go further mach 1.4 if not the rear part of the frame is in danger, have nearly 800 technical issues....

Doesn't even matter anymore as both are completely different generation. The thing is our Rafales are good enough for J10 and J15/16s only, it won't stand a chance against J20s and J31s of PLAAF. Chinese have already started the mass production of their J20s and it's just a matter of time they permanently deploy them in their forward bases facing India. AMCA is the need of the hour. It's strange that we didn't even started the PPP model to manufacture these jets

According to a French magazine( i forgot its name), France is offering India 36 more Rafales+6 A330 MRTT and Panther helis for 5 billion euros. i think it was to be offered when Macron was supposed to visit in India in May, but it was cancelled due to the second wave.

What you said is not entirely true since USMC's F-35Cs are already FOC. Also, even at mostly IOC, the F-35 program has already exceeded the flight hours of Rafale. So as a program the F-35 has now more experience operating F-35 than the Dassault operating Rafale.

If India went for the Super Hornet they would all be flying now and more cheaper for the same bang or more for the buck. Perhaps India will already have a potent electronic warfare plane in Growler that would make Pakistan and China fear rscalating any tension with it.

Rafale is overrated. It only wins through bribes.

This is plain nonsense. Rafale is a G2G deal, there's no 'bribe" angle when only govts get involved. It happens when armed forces directly involve with the arm manufacturing companies which also have middlemen to finalise the deals.

We already had chosen Rafale before that happened, we couldn't reach to the original deal because the price and we bought 36 with many other things made directly by dassault because we actually need a new fighter with 4.5gen capabilities. The allegations regarding the deal with anil ambani made by dassault doesn't involve any govt, and allegations are just pure speculations, they just allege only favoritism on the basis of unicorn theories. That could be said for almost many deals companies made with other companies.

Look again at the bids of Rafale when running up against the F-35, it's mostly economic promises like in the case of Belgium France promised €20B investments vs. €4B Belgian fighter purchase budget.

Though we would love to have the AMCA available to take on the J20, I am aware of the reality. The AMCA will not be available at least till the end of this decade.
Unless a miracle takes place.

I would not like to comment on the comparison between the Rafale and the J20.
Because we know little about the actual capabilities of the J20.
What is its frontal RCS?. What is the IR signature of its engine exhaust?.
Does it have a DAS capability like the F35.
How good is its AESA radar?.
The actual figures will be classified but even probable range of capability has not been disclosed by the Chinese.
One thing going for the J20 is that it was designed from the beginning as a stealth aircraft unlike the Rafale.
One significant drawback of 5th generation stealth aircraft is that they are maintenance intensive as compared to 4th generation planes. The turn around time will be more and sortie rates will be less.

In case it is fielded in large numbers in Tibet and Xinjiang against India we would be in a dilemma. The only two options immediately available are the Su57 and the F35.
Both have entered squadron service in their respective Air Forces.

The F35 will be a better choice but will the US provide it without too many strings attached.

But one assumes that the priority of the PLAAF would be the Taiwan theatre.
