We are going to make more of those subs despite being told that the subs are compromised.

And you think I am of unsound mind?

Not that I mind us making 125 KN engine with the French. Engines are some of the few items our partnership with the French seem to be working well. But at what cost?
those where just constructinal details which were compromised.....

constructional is different then operationai i guess !!!

Are we actually ordering more Scorpenes? I thought P75I RFP should be an indicator that we are not. Plus, no follow on orders have been placed.

Anyway, it's off topic for this thread...

Oh, the information was everywhere: unreliable, crack on the blade, trembling, etc. But, hey, how can you expect a guy to know these if he doesn’t even know WS-10 is a “Copy” of CFM-56.
Are you sure that WS-10 is a Reverse engineered copy of CFM-56?

I think it's not. Bcoz CFM-56 is a Turbofan for commercial airliners

As a condition,P-75i will have more % of Indigenous content than p-75 , along with the AIP system.
There are three front-runners as Type-216(Germany), Scorpene (France) and Soryu class (Germany).
According to me, Germany will surely loose this Bcoz of previous sanctions imposed by them.
So, P-75I will be a competition between SORYU Vs SCORPENE.

There was no critical information in the document leakage related to scorpene.
Most of the information leaked is quite commonly shared in DCNS' Product catalogue.

Please refrain from commenting on P75 in Kaveri engine section where it is unnecessary. He was telling that P85 is related to Kaveri. Just clarify regarding that and leave it there. The specific details of P75 is not relevant here.

As I said, P75 was ordered by Vajpayee govt in 2004 and hence can have no bearing on Kaveri engine. Khagesh is just a jihadi who has to keep abusing anyone by bringing any random topic from anywhere

When @mayfair already mentioned that it's off-Topic, it means this off-Topic discussions will not go longer. But you are trying to be over smart by replying to this topic.

Stupid.:crazy:

Was at DRDO defense expo in CVRDE Chennai yesterday.....spoke to ADA guy at Tejas stall reg Naval Tejas status, he said that Naval Tejas is on...and noise made by Navy was to withdraw the funding...ADA have continued the project with their own funding ...third prototype is being built as we speak based on the inputs of the tests conducted so far on other prototypes.. he said the engine testing for the 3rd prototype would commence in December....have some other news from the DRDO people...will post in relevent thread with pics

Remember naval Tejas s also a technical demonstrator to realise viable design for carrier capable fighter aircraft....these designs will help to compress time lines for Ada when they start work on naval amca....having said dat ADA guy also said they are working to reduce weight which s the main grouse of the navy n was confident navy would be happy with the end product....the last part dat was music to my ears was dat after development navy had indicated a requirement of 50 n Ada has budgeted for LSPs also ...remember Ada s using its own funds as navy has discontinued theirs, after the new chief came in....I know given the news about slow death of naval tejas flying around in our forum, the news was a bolt out of blue for me....one thing the npol lab guy who deals with sonars said is almost all news are paid journalistic rubbish heavily favouring foreign product....he also said that they used to have a hearty laugh at our expense after going through different defense forumso_Oo_O reg our knowledge of ongoing programs...

You should have asked one of them to join forum and face me atleast.
It s a no-go area for them... Disclosure of on projects of national security s a big no-no in any country....even youngsters are tight lipped...one thing though they have realised that they have to educate public on what they do.....dey did say all successful milestones would announced through official websites.....we would be seeing more outreach programs...it was evident in the way people manning the stalls being very receptive to all the questions throw in.... u should c the RCI lab guy fielding questions regarding the ins-gps module of bhramos from a 10 year old boy....the energy spent to stand on your feet for 8 hrs n explaining their product again n again was amazing....there were also an army officer liaison from the valley very eager to know abt the manpack IED protection n convoy protection system

Unfortunately yestyrday was the last day of the 3 day expo...1st n 2nd day was exclusively meant for college and school students and the third day was for public.

GTRE didn't have a stall, however the ADA guy said Kaveri will eventually see service with both Tejas MK1a n 2 ...currently they are in receipt of 5 f414....on queried regarding the size discrepancy between f414 n Kaveri, he said MK2 s designed in such a way that mountings for both the engines are the same...regarding current status he actually didn't know but was confident it will eventually frutify.... he said the current gov has given a big push....the entire Tejas family of MK1,1a,2 n naval is built around kaveri

Yes, I am pretty damn sure because:
1. The core of CFM-56 is the same one working inside F110;
2. CFM-56 was the only third generation engine they can get in 1980s;
3. The WS-10 already started testing when they got AL31 in 1990s.

I have a bit correction , it was rumoured that The WS-10 may have been based on the core of the CFM-56II (itself based on the General Electric F101); China purchased two CFM-56IIs in the 1980s. It may be because the initial Engines ws-10a has a poor life of only 30 hrs.
Than they found their solution by reverse engineered al-31 and get improved ws-10B. But it still can't match al-31.

Correct me, if there is something to be corrected

Is MK2 being designed at all? Lots of conflicting reports out there. It seems that the focus is to fully realise Mk1A and then shift the focus completely onto AMCA.

India should develop turbofan engines that can power a medium category fifth gen fighter aircraft and a heavy category one by hook or crook ASAP othwrwise Chinese will be ahead from us in this area also. Turbofan engine technology can be reverse engineered or copied but what can't be reverse engineered or copied is the metallurgy of the material used in it. So India need to pump in funds in the area such such as single crystal blade technology. Private sector steel giant such as Tata Steel should also step in. Moreover, retired engineers especially metallugists of engine makers such as GE, Pratt&Whitney, Honeywell, Saturn etc should be roped in for their consultancy service.

DMRL already got breakthrough in single crystal blade technology in late 2015.
SAFRAN is already roped for third time in Kaveri project.

Mk2 still on papers & HAL/ADA already inked a deal for 8 units of GE-F414.

we can build a complex cryogenic engine we can do this. it will take time. that is our DNA apparently wish it changes and we go faster.
