The Dartar is designed more or less for the Gripen C/D. Funding and resources for the missile was worked out by South Africa,Brazil and Sweden when the missile was in intial stages.

All the testing for the missile is being done in Sweden. Is Piranaha being offered or Darter??
according to article 'Mectron delivered its first MAA-1A Piranha-1 air-to-air missiles to the nation last month, and Islamabad has also signed a letter of intent to purchase B-version Piranha-2s' & A-Darter is on offer

The same money that we showed to you people, you think we will come to a stand still after you people refused
You sent out an RFP, you didn't flash any money. We haven't even given you a price because you weren't cleared for export. lol

The article of A-Dartar was quoted to give you an idea that South Africans & Brazilians are eying Pakistan to buy their product , it solves the problem of a WVR AAM & guess you need to read the date of that article again, it was back in 2008 ,that T-Darter will be replacing the existing R-Darter,you think they would not have been sitting idle for two years or so, French refusal will only delay things not completely put JF-17 out of action but on other hand we all know that French won't refuse once they see Dollah coming once MMRCA is settled
The article quoted a bunch of short-range WVRAAMs. I knew before you posted that garbage SA no longer makes a BVRAAM. I have been doing this alot longer than you honey. I also know better than you that T-Darter plans are on hold and likely to be cancelled.

Chief of the Air Force (CAF) Lt Gen Carlo Gagiano last year said the SAAF was contemplating a beyond visual range AAM (BVRAAM) for Gripen, but adds that high integration costs and a tight budget will likely mean the choice of a weapon already integrated by the original equipment manufacturer.

So where are your BVRAAM choices now?

we showed you a billion euros, guess you need to read this(I love Google Translator)....

"Nearly 90% of the way has been made, and the remaining points are few and not among the most sensitive, "says a source close to negotiations.

Armement : la France bien placée pour un méga-contrat au Pakistan
So where are your BVRAAM choices now?
South Africans won't be as expensive as you people, if we were ready to pay to French a billion Euros we can pay some bucks to them as well...

Do you have a link for the Darter offer???
well read it again....

Avibras chief executive Sami Hassuani believes an initial 100-200 units could be sold to international users, with Pakistan viewed as a prime candidate

Is Chinese missiles are so low grade that Pakistan does not want them? I think people should avoid giving these things to Pakistan as it will end up in hands of Chinese which will reverse engineer them.

It would be nice if you actually used the translator to read what it says...

There remains a second condition in size : the client country is heavily indebted and must mobilise the necessary money as he promises .
Thank you for Google Translator so you now have the ability to find the evidence that hangs yourself and saves me the trouble.

No BVRAAM for you.

Isn't that the truth... Pakistan doesn't want their WVRAAMs much less BVRAAMs. From tanks to planes, Pakistan is not happy with Chinese weapons. The only reason they buy them is so they can shift production to their own country and claim "Made in Pakistan."

Pakistan seeks buyers for JF-17 Thunder jets

The JF-17 Thunder is an all-weather and multi-role combat aircraft that has potential to be the mainstay of any modern air force.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is looking for buyers for the JF-17 Thunder multi-role fighter jets it has co-produced with China.

An official told Dawn on Saturday that funds generated through the sale of the combat aircraft would be used in efforts to modernise Pakistan Air Force which was already emerging as a potent outfit with the recent induction of force multipliers.

He said that besides Turkey, some countries of the Middle East and Africa were taking keen interest in acquisition of the aircraft.

He said that two JF-17 Thunder aircraft of the PAF, manufactured at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra, had flown to the United Kingdom to participate in the forthcoming Farnborough Air Show 2010, scheduled to be held between July 19 and 25.

The JF-17 Thunder is an all-weather and multi-role combat aircraft that has potential to be the mainstay of any modern air force.

The sources said the serial production of JF-17 Thunder had already started and ultimately some 250 aircraft would be inducted in the fighter fleet of the PAF.

The first squadron of JF-17 has already joined the fighter fleet and the second squadron will be inducted by the end of the year.

They said the PAF had invested in the force multipliers like air-to-air refuellers, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft to enhance its capacity and capability to undertake complex operations.

He said that efforts to enhance capacity of the PAF would continue in the wake of growing importance of air power which played a vital and decisive role in war situations.

The source observed that participants of the Farnborough Air Show would prove to be a good forum for interacting with people interested in JF-17 Thunder and booking orders for supply of the potent combat aircraft.

The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) is one of the world's most iconic global aviation events.

FIA holds a prominent position in the aerospace calendar taking place on a biennial basis (once every two years) over one week in July.

The first five days of the show are traditionally trade days only, followed by a weekend where the exhibition is opened up to the public.

The most recent airshow, FIA 2008, was a record-breaking year for business with $88.7 billion worth of orders announced during the show.

The 2008's event featured 165 aircraft in static displays and spectacular flying displays and the public weekend attracted a staggering 153,000 visitors. The upcoming Farnborough International Airshow is certain to be the most exciting to date.

With its existing exhibition halls, flying displays and UAV pavilion, FIA 2010 will evolve its business theme to include a number of new networking initiatives such as a themed conference and seminar programme, a 'meet your buyer' event and a day dedicated to the International Futures for Youth.

Additionally, FIA 2010 will feature a dedicated 'Space Zone' and enhanced UAV presence.

I hope this will be acceptable

Sino-Pak fighter on the radar for MENA forces

Sudan, Egypt or Turkey could be the first MENA region customers for the Chengdu/Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) JF-17 fighter, which is making its Western air show debut at Farnborough.

The countries jointly developed the aircraft, with the Pakistani air force receiving its first Chinese-manufactured examples in 2009. PAC also began indigenous assembly of the aircraft last year, and could incorporate Western avionics, radars and other systems into the fighter from 2012.

Two of the Pakistani aircraft are at the Farnborough show. There were hopes that the aircraft would be able to display but they are on a static park instead.

Both Pakistan and China are keen to export the fighter, which they tout as a low-cost alternative replace aged Northrop F-5s and Lockheed Martin F-16s. Pakistan could have around 28 JF-17s in service by year-end, and is planning to eventually operate up to 250.

China National Aero-Technology Import & Export, which markets Chinese-made military aviation products globally, is in talks with around six potential customers, while the Pakistani government has also held initial discussions with others.

"China wants to use the JF-17 as part of its plan to become a significant player in the global military aviation market, while Pakistan is keen for exports that will help it to reduce its unit cost at its indigenous assembly plants," says an industry source.

"Negotiations have been ongoing for a while now and they will continue at Farnborough, which is a great opportunity to show off what the aircraft can do."

Industry sources add that China has held talks with countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Venezuela, while Pakistani officials have held discussions with Egypt and Turkey.

A customer that commits to a "significant number of aircraft" could get help to set up an indigenous assembly plant if it is keen to help its domestic industry, say officials. This is similar to the arrangement with Pakistan for the JF-17 and a Chinese deal with Egypt for the Hongdu K-8 trainer and light attack aircraft several years ago.

According to flightglobal, getting a suitable engine could be a potential hurdle, however, with Russia unwilling to allow China to use the Klimov RD-93 engine beyond the aircraft's current buyers. China's Guizhou Aircraft has been developing the WS-13 Taishan for the fighter for the past 10 years, and a JF-17 reportedly made a test flight using the new powerplant in March. But it is understood the company is still not ready for mass production of the engine.

China: Russia's Not Stopping the Flow of JF-17 Engines

By TOM KINGTON, FARNBOROUGH, Britain – An official at the Chinese export agency marketing the Chinese JF-17/FC-1 fighter says Russia has given no signal that it will interrupt the flow of the RD-93 engine it makes for the aircraft.

"We have a contract for the supply of 100 engines, we have signed an agreement for the eventual supply of 500 engines, and we believe that is still on course," said the official from the China National Aero-Technology Import and Export agency (CATIC). "I have not seen any instruction to stop this. We have nothing through official channels, and believe the engine is still an option for exported aircraft."

The official spoke at the Farnborough Air Show, where the JF-17 made its first static display appearance at an international air show.

Earlier this month, Sukhoi general director Mikhail Pogosyan had appealed to his government to block the supply of RD-93s, which are built by Chernyshyov Machine-building Enterprise. Russian aircraft exports were being harmed by Chinese competition, Pogosyan had warned.

The aircraft has been sold to the Pakistani Air Force, which flew to Farnborough two of the 16 aircraft it has received.

"It is the first time we put the aircraft out there so we can get feedback," said a Pakistan Air Force official, describing the $20 million JF-17. "For cost and capabilities, there is no equivalent."

The CATIC official said that talks were underway with "four to six" potential export customers. Pilots from those nations had been testflying the aircraft in China, he said.

"We expect the first contracts in a year or two," the official said.

The JF-17 will not fly at Farnborough, but is slated to give a flight demonstration at the Zhuhai Air Show in November, the official said.

The JF17 is also a Delta Wing Design, if I am not mistaken.
