Drivers are issued with Rifles too..

Its the Mech Inf gets the folded Butt Rifles..

Insas is ok, 9 mm carbine is good riddance..
I would like to ask one thing. How long will MSMC will take to enter into service because I think it is a perfect PDW and can fill the gap between an assault rifle and 9 mm carbine.

MOD launched a RFI for Assault rifles for Infantry also they launched RFI for carbines, Both are of 5.56mm..

MSMC may take part in the carbine RFI if ready.

The INSAS is smoother to cock and reload, but more difficult to re-assemble after stripping. Its like the AK.
The SLR is much smoother.

During YOs we carry out a Test of Elementary Training (TSOET), were a rifle is kept in completely stripped down condition 50 mtrs from the firing point and you have to run to it from 50 mtrs away. Assemble the rifle, then run to the firing point and fill in 5 rounds in the mag, and fire the 5 rounds on a figure 11 target at 100 mtrs.

All this is to be done in 60 seconds. I dont know if I would be able to do this with an INSAS in under 60 seconds.

No Info available..

As i looked on AK-101 specs it just the weight is reduced but the internals are same as AKM so its blow back is similar as Insas, Where as other like SIG &Others don't have such deign, So less blow back and accurate firing but maintenance is more..

By blow-back, did you mean recoil?

Blow-back is the term used where the bolt moves back as a result of the backward moving empty case right after ignition. In AK, INSAS, etc., there is no blow back and it is the gas from the gas pipe that pushes a piston that moves the bolt backwards. For example, Sterling and P90 are blow-back weapons, while AK, INSAS, etc., are not.

Other operating principles for self-loading firearms include blow forward, gas operation, recoil operation, Gatling, and chain. The blowback principle may be considered a simplified form of gas operation, since the cartridge case behaves like a piston driven by the powder gases.[1]

why insas is having the charging handle in the left side instead of right side like ak and m4? when i tried to cock the weapon i find it uncomfortable as iam a right hander any way the folding type charging handle enhances the safety.

In war when you need to reload the rifle, you need to have one hand on the trigger, just in case you need to fire fast. Now if the charging handle is on the right side for most of the soldiers they need to remove their hand from the trigger and then do the same. Since in war every second count this just might save his life. This is only explanation i can think of (subject to correction).

I have picture of Woman BSF soldiers doing the same but it is in other computer.

from theoretical point of view it is correct.but as far i felt charging handle on the right side was easy as the cocking of the sterling carbine (it has handle on the rifght side ) was more easy than that of insas.

Because Indian soldiers are used to the FN-FAL style of charging with the left hand.

This is from an Indian Army man, who also posts various videos on Indian weapons:
nungleppam - YouTube

coz our troops are used to the left hand cocking of SLR
