NASAMS -II is coming. We already have SPYDER. Procuring S-400. And indigenous BMDS is just finishing it's project. Niw, acquisition of this is redundant.

Firstly it's not an 'Ashoka' truck. Iveco (Italian) trucks are used by many countries.

The system is NASAMS 2 - part of Spanish military (Spanish flag colors clearly visible on the truck)

There were talks that Turkey might get ToT for missile manufacturing.
On our part, we too are getting ToT, but not in the field of missile, rather in RADAR and fire control. We are going to integrate S-400 system into our air defence role which is a multilayered with the likes of Rajendra and LRTR and MOTR in future.

Astra based barak-8? Concepts might exist in varied form in DRDO minds and fans minds. But only 'approved' projects can be considered as 'under development'

Igla-S is L1 bidder for VSHORAD. But, is it worth purchasing? Even Russia is replacing Iglas with Verba. Apparently MoD declined offer of Verba on the same price when Igla-S performed poorly during tests and Igla-S given various waivers to remain in the competition. This will be another can of worm. Indian Army will have to use this system for at least couple of decades. Why buy an antique piece of junk!!!!!

Most of the Indian army top brass r working for Russian arms manufacturers .

One plausible reason might be the usage of both the system. Where India is well aware of 9K38, 9K333 is relatively new product and not been widely marketed around. We would have to take Russian words for its capability. The only other country using 9K333 is Armenia. So in 9K38 we have a reliable used system with us. We have seen same scenario in case of Caracal.

With its passive IR homing and night vision capability, its already a potent weapon. 9K333 has the advantage of a wide spectrum and bit longer range. But taking into consideration the proposed geography in which we would use it, Igla-S itself is a potent weapon with decades of our experience in handling it.
