Airborne troops are basically infantry with severe disadvantages.are'nt they just an infantry with a parachuting capability. So we can just say that, right
Depending on how far behind enemy lines they drop, they lose their ability for combined arms warfare in totality.
They probably can't call arty, can't be supported by significant armor, can't call air (if enemy SAMs are up), are heavily loaded for sustainment (thus hampering mobility), probably have a few injured from the jump itself and communication with troops in friendly lines will be sparse due to risk of detection (so lesser coordination with other units and lack of fresh intel other than the intel gathered by themselves).
A slight shift or oversight in planning could cause catastrophe.
Case in point- VDV in Bucha.
Such risky role, much wow.
