I seriously doubt any Indian SF officer has the kind of technical knowledge about specialist gear that this IDF officer showcases

What makes SOF units around the world special is their attention to detail and customisations, you can see every element of this unit's gear as been thought through and is optimised meanwhile Indian SFs are running around with stock equipment that's identical to how it was delivered to them.

Clearly a lot of this expertise has been built up thanks to real world operations but what's shocking is this is what the Indian armed forces pride themselves in-being "battle hardened" but seemingly no generation learns anything new or applies it and this is shockingly even more apparent with the SF units in India than anywhere else. RR at least have seen a significant change in recent years but you would struggle to notice any difference between a PARA (SF) operator in JK today and what they were running in 2009.

IMO we’ve seen more weapons customisations and modifications done by RR than our SF, like experimenting with modifiation kits and purchasing sights and other equipment with unit funds.

MARCOS are airborne qualified & bloody good at it too. Specialise in HALO/HAHO, etc.🙄
Yea they are airborne qualified. It's one of the tools on their belt. They are not Airborne troops nor are they paratroopers. Same goes for the Garud.

Only the Parachute Regiment gets to wear the Maroon beret.

Jump wings is not the qualification for getting the Maroon beret.
