Nope, that is a bad idea in the long run, each person will have varying tastes and preferences which will lead to problems later on with respeat to uniformity and quality issues. Example several soldiers end purchasing Chinese copies of Crye Precision plate carriers which are cheap but of inferior quality

That's not my concern, the point being you can see almost all top SOF units from around the world conducting realistic high intensity training and their drills reflect it, whenever you see Indian units their drills look clunky, unpracticed and uncoordinated and the drills amount to little more than a walkthrough

Dude the same clunky, un practiced and uncoordinated guys have fucked their each and every enemy. These Hollywood type actions are not going to work in real life.

It actually sounds like a good idea if soldiers are not happy with the regular standard issue stuff they could purchase approved higher quality stuff if they desire so as to maintain quality with the equipment and avoid purchasing cheap stuff like the Chinese copy plate carriers. I believe in the US too few units are allowed to purchase approved extra stuff and gear. This could be something of a workable solution to ensure uniformity in camo n all.

Uniformity is the founding principle of military using different vests,mag pouches. even in an squad or platoon level there should be somewhat of uniformity and only thing that indian sf has uniformity is the rifle they all use tar21.all 3 special forces use it but its accuracy is only good at less than 300 m and its designed for israeli battle field conditions and urban warfare in mind its not SF rifle so even in the one thing we have uniformity we have screwed it up

Heard of the infamous Night Raids in Af? Who do you think carry them out? These supposedly 'ineffective' guys do. They have replaced the Devgru at this tasking in Af, US pullout and all. I'm talking about the NDS Special Forces, just to be clear, not the commando corps. There has been a discussion on the same in the archived thread and the India pakistan conflict thread.

And if you are trying to imply that American aid to just the Afghan Special Forces is more than Indian SF budget, then that is even more pathetic. @abingdonboy @rkhanna @COLDHEARTED AVIATOR anyone, is this true?

The Afghan Special Forces are some of the most battle hardened SFs same goes for Iraq too(Golden division). Even their intelligence agency the NDS is also quite good. Their regular infantry generally is below average to bad depending on their commanders. Their police specially outside of Kabul cannot be trusted and may defect to the taliban at the first sight of trouble. They also lack any form of meaningful armour regiments and artillery.
