Right.. Probably deputed to SFF.
No, the article mentions he is CO of 9 Para sf, so he won't be deputed to SFF. It may be for services through out his career or maybe of what I heard, the Para Sf with LS, traced the path which the army used to gain heights of the northern bank. I am not sure if the latter is true.

Why would anyone need to complete BUD/S 3 times?....it's qualifier is in the title "basic"
once you complete buds thats it, you earn the respect and the real training starts after that. Why would you do buds 3 times?

Sub Sanjiv Kumar Awarded The Kirti Chakra For Sacrificing His Own Life To Save His Peers

He was the leading squad commander of the Special Forces detachment which was helidropped in Keran Sector to intercept and eliminate an infiltration track of Pakistan sponsored terrorists. The 43-year-old belonged to the 4 Para (Special Forces) battalion, well-known for its daredevil para commandos and several bold operations.

Subedar Sanjiv Kumar has been awarded the Kirti Chakra for eliminating and injuring terrorists in an operation in Jammu and Kashmir on April 4, 2020. His name was on the list of gallantry awardees released by the Union government on Monday. He was the leading squad commander of the Special Forces detachment which was helidropped in Keran Sector to intercept and eliminate an infiltration track of Pakistan sponsored terrorists.

After being helidropped, Kumar along with his squad began to track the foot trails of the infiltrating terrorists. After wading through the thick snow for about five hours, the squad reached the terrorists' location. While the squad was closing in on the terrorists, the leading scouts stepped onto an ice ledge and fell into a nallah. That is when the enemy opened fire and injured both scouts.

Kumar along with his buddy swiftly jumped into the nallah to rescue the scouts. While his buddy provided covering fire, Kumar managed to evacuate one of the scouts. When he reached out for the other one, the heavy fire was opened on him by the terrorists. He charged towards the terrorists and neutralised one of them at very close range.

The 43-year-old belonged to the 4 Para (Special Forces) battalion of the Parachute Regiment - an elite infantry Regiment well-known for its daredevil para commandos and several bold operations.

Interesting - first time I'm seeing a Push-to-Talk (PTT) switch on Indian SFs from upclose. They don't have the tactical headsets, but seem to have plugged the in-ear device into the PTT, which then terminates into a radio handset carried elsewhere on his person.

Saw them before, but never in this detail -

...still trying to ID the model.

That sling setup he's got is also interesting.
