I had seen some one posted pic of ' wall of ghosts from 9 para'. So whats the criteria for entering it?iirc i didnt recall seeing the pic of Sanjog chethri or Mohan Goswami in it thats why asked. Is it only for officers?
Can you share the pic
And yes, it's from the Officer's Mess. An operator from 9 is a painter. The Wall has caricature of every officer of 9 from 1966!
(afaik)

This surprises me a lot. Because right on the other side of the border you have SSG, which is very well structured. Man or man, Para SF can take them on, heck even our Ghataks can, but I have always wondered why is there a difference between the two armies in how they structure and treat their special forces.
US Military Training and Support. US had Military Assistance Advisory Group in Pakistan in 1950s and as part of this assistance US Military advisors also helped lay the foundation of PISSG and pakis took it and ran with it. Pakis are still trying to emulate the US in every possible way from Uniforms to Military units. Indian Army is still using the old British style military doctrines and thinking that even British don’t even follow today. India needs to make changes to doctrines and thinking to fight modern conflicts.

Why don't SFs around the world use bullpups? Even those countries which use bullpups as the primary weapon for their infantry don't use them for their SF. Like Australians or the British.

That did answer my question but it raised another. Why are we using them and what are our operator's opinion on the Tavor? Also are there any plans to move on from the bullpup platform to ARs or will para SF keep using them?

And very conveniently, India will not. It's drowning in Corruption and Ego.

@AVINASH4061 sir,
There was a cropped pic circulating yesterday, which was said to be of a RFI in which quad/dual tubes NVD are being procured by Northern Command, but such a RFI couldn't be found on army's website. Are you aware whether such an RFI has actually been released or was it fake?
Hope this isn't some sensitive info.

Bullpups with side ejection ports make weak hand shooting very difficult, the brass hits your face. If they make it forward eject or bottom eject, malfunction clearing becomes a chore as you cant see inside the chamber. Bullpups generally have shittier triggers. Handguards dont provide enough railspace for mounting accessories.
Alot of these issues can be solved, but it still ends up being awkward to shoot because of its ergonomics, you cant even adjust the length of pull.
Its easier to just go with an AR variant then to dedicate time and money into a new rifle that solves these issues.
The only thing bullpups achieve is being shorter in length, but the special operations community have found ways to deal with the length of their conventional weapons at such a degree that it isnt an issue anymore.
