Sure this isn’t a NE militia?

If someone just showed me these two NE guys in this pic I’d easily have believed they are from any one of the several NE militant groups with captured/knock off/guns smuggled from Thailand .😂
In a way I don’t think even the militants would realise that these guys aren’t with them cuz they look almost exactly the same, could be intentional too who knows? But with our army I’m not sure.
I don’t mean any sort of disrespect to these guys as they’re the ones in front facing the bullets and are fiercely brave and dedicated , as well as the ones facing the greatest risk especially their families if they reside in militancy affected areas.

Taking an airplane in the air is not like taking a Honda out of your garage.

Requires lots of approvals and planning.

I doubt IAF would be interested in a bet of two Generals.

Seems like it came from someone who doesn't understand flying operations in IAF at all and wants to fool others.

The other day my friend was telling me about the lack of assets for para drop in Agra and now i am reading joke joke mein Rawalpindi that too for a bet.

Unbelievable!
Photo or it didn't happen.

The sad state...back in 2018
This happens when the 'Generals and military bureaucrats' systemically overlook the Special Forces...

I was reading a book on Siachen conflict which mentioned a note of Lt Gen VR Raghavan. “The army found that snow scooters can greatly help…and reduce both time and effort…snow scooters are based on a simple technology, are cheap, and easily available in the world market. They do not require complex processes involved in the acquisition of tanks or aircraft or submarines. Snow scooters are meant to operate on snowfields and not they are not required in large numbers and the annual purchase of a couple of a dozen would have more than met the needs on the Saltoro. This simple matter was turned into a tortuously complex operation by officials in the Ministry of Defence.”

troops on the glacier asked that special prayers of thanks be offered to the regimental deity. The story may be apocryphal, but it shows how gallant
soldiers are reduced to seeking divine intervention against insensitive official processes.”

Babu and general took 4 year just to induct a simple but essential snowmobile, they will take an eternity to procure complex SOF equipments

The Rawalpindi Freefallers

This is a tidbit of no significance.

Somewhere in mid-2000s, it is rumored that two Generals of Indian Army, decided to have a private bet over the capabilities of the Special Forces. What transpired, remains probably one of the most closely guarded secrets of the Indian Army, something which exists only in myths and within the tightly knit community of Indian Army, with a few selective individuals. This operation officially never existed and has, officially, never been undertaken/acknowledged and probably will be denied as a figment of imagination.

Subsequent to the bet, a team was detailed from one of the PARA (SF) units (name withheld for obvious reasons) comprising of those who were qualified in Combat Freefall.

Cheekily, the operation was soon put in motion as a routine training mission, but the scope and intent of the same, impressed the powers that be, and it was decided to go ahead with it. "Training" exercise it was to be.

A platform from IAF was requisitioned. Even the IAF was on board quickly seeing the audacity and boldness of the plan. The team practiced it's deployments and planned for what was to happen next. The IAF identified it's ingress routes to the target points and created a diversion and planned for the imminent ingress.

At the last minute, it was decided to deploy the team for training - over the skies of Rawalpindi.

Needless to say, the IAF platform penetrated the Pakistani Airspace briefly, the team was deployed in a HAHO mode and the aircraft egressed before the PAF could detect the intrusion. The team was given general area Rawalpindi to land and assemble in.

The team not only landed successfully, but over the next 5 weeks, successfully evaded detection and capture and egressed.

Further details are neither known, nor required to be known.

But ever since then, the 'Rawalpindi Freefallers' were legends for those who know of them ...

Yep, no way in hell they pulled this off. Just like that, on short notice, they just planned a freefall insertion deep into enemy territory in an area that happens to house the Pakistani Army HQ. Also, just like that, they happened to have an extraction plan to get them out of Rawalpindi. If this freefalling into the Pakistan side of Kashmir or Gilgit-Baltistan then I'd believe it, but deep in Pakistani territory where they can deploy the entire strength of the Pakistani military and intelligence apparatus? No way.

Sounds as fictitious as the whole"super commandos" op in 2013, where it was claimed that SF/SG commandos were undercover in Karachi to take Dawood out and the op was called off at the last minute when the commandos were already in position.

For the Afghan SF denouncers here’s a small clip showing what they’re doing these days. Most importantly most of their ops are done at night .
The officers are probably trained in NDA Khadakwasla and later in IMA Dehradun
Some also go to Westpoint in United States

For leadership sure. but thats wider Military

Afghan SF Officers also go to Fort Bragg but from now on Qatar is building an entire Training Facility for them.

How long the Current Govt holds out is a different thing

Instead of investing 3 billion in infra, we should have had given 3 billion dollars worth of weapons for infantry and SF.

The denouncers have to open up their mind by putting a grenade in it😀.

We are talking about capabilities of SF not capabilities of the nation or the police and what not.

This is a SF thread and we aim to talk SF and its capabilities here.Modernisation and equipments are capabilities.

Its was a this vs this debate and i dont see why i would care who runs Afghanistan tomorrow or even bring that up.

Nor sachin could win the 99 world cup for us nor will the Afghan SF single handedly defeat taliban.

Its a team sport and win is decided by the weakest link.
