ya that's the vibe i got from the interview and hence posted here.

he did spoke out against fanboy ism as well and did say all forces deserve their due respect....the bisleri drinking ones too while staying appreciative of our guys.

V Jacob in the interview initially said he never made a mistake and no one ever got injured/killed under his watch and yet covertly at the end added, i made only 1 mistake, no 1 was killed but somebody got injured and after that I left the SF!
So.... I'm not dissing him at all but he doesn't need to hide it, we ll r humans after all; the way he said it, i felt it still hurts his pride or something!
His father it seems was an ace shooter, believed to be one of the very best of 9, as per veterans!

Basically 1 man is issued with marksman rifle in Ghatak,RR per section. I got this information from various army personnel and my cousin.
Though I really shouldn't have generalised as no of men in a section in indian army varies.

Section in IA, CRPF, BSF, ITBP all is a team of 10 men. It doesn't vary. In Para SF, the smallest independent unit is a 6 man hit. 3 sections make a platoon, 3 platoons make a company and so on.

MARCOS were instituted in early 1990s as IMSF.

Edit: it was in 1987. U may be right.

No. It isn't. The number of sections will be decreased when there is a shortage. No of people in a section cannot be changed.

I recently had a chat with someone from armed forces it looks like you are right about section strength. Generally platoon are issued with two marksman though no and weapon may vary.

Because each soldier in a section has a specific role. Adding people to the section will be useless..

it is a letdown that we have neglected role of marksman. Sniper recently got update in their inventory.
US,Uk and various other countries have 3 marksman per platoon 1 marksman per section. We still on 1 to 2 per platoon.

There is a marksman in each section, tho.. With Dragunov. Section structure is virtually the same as that of the UK..

its a 4x scope, units all around the world put such optics on similar calibre rifles.

Bhai when u have M4,Tar-21,SLR and then your regular Ak with sidefolding wire stock, on which one you would mount a 4x scope to be utilise it as a Marksman rifle.
