Only in such cringey promo videos and joint exercises while they still continue using Patkas in live-ops
No sir please check other pics of 1 para (SF), they have been using this exact setup since last decade lol. They were probably the first unit in India to standardize High Cut helmets (no rails, External mounts) back in 2011-12.
The Patka helmet kit is very theater specific kit, which has been evolving slowly with new code of conduct and SOP implementations from top-down.

So this is how the peak of indian SOF looks like..
Meanwhile SSG has been using ACOGS from idk how long. Just check this picture of (most probably zarrar ATU) in 2024. 4-5 guys are running acogsView attachment 256235
There's a very wrong misconception among the defence circles that SG is some sort of desi JSOC. At one point of time this was true, but today things are quite different. And yes, ACOG is old as fuck now.

Won't say that this is the peak of Indian SOF, basically the thing is every Indian SMU in CI/CT role just throw in some operatives with minimum gear and equipment. More precisely the unit(SG) in the pic I posted, is more like a INT based hit squad type unit where they have the equipment they need/want as per their mission requirement but for CI/CT Ops they just send a squad or two with standard issue things and not some special stuff.

Their was a time when SG operatives were seen with P90s and FN F2000s in some very rare instances in the valley but then the Belgians and Germans protested seeing their weapons being used in the valley so the unit pulled off...

Btw guyz don't get upset when you see some of the SF operatives still using Patkas, talked to someone who knows and he told me that the recently converted units still have a company(150 troops) for Airborne Role who are still equipped with the old standard issue of Airborne for CI!

Sir Patkas are used by SF support roles boys too, some use ACH, majority prefer patkas. The ACH comes from previous Std kit upgrade back in 2010-11

There is an interesting rumor that paki KPK/sindh CTDs have got an interesting rifle which even SSG doesn't have. MK18 (without any attachments tho)😀. What do yall think about mk18 as a special forces AR and does it qualify for para sf?
Remember this? Seems like they have started getting initial units.. Daniel defense MK18 in the hands of KPK police and CTD. I have noticed that unlike us, pakis prioritize police CTDs more into CI/CT role instead of using special forces in every mission
