isn't 24th rank very bad for a tire 1 unit .
Well winning these types of competition requires extensive infra and training with ample amount of time.
If I remember correctly, Small teams of Devgru and Delta force spend about 3-6 months solely training for competition like this .
So does GROM.
Poor perfomance of GROM shows they probably didn't train enough for it.
Their is another competition , I believe its called Delta cup organised by delta force.
Most tier -1 unit take part in it including SAS, SBS, JW GROM , French , Mexicans , Brazilians , Australians , kiwis, etc.
GROM usually always comes in top 5 in that.

This was also in what 2003 right long time ago we didn't know we went to this so who knows what else competition Indian units go to the tier 1s.

True ,
But you are wrong about the vehicle part ;
We have the best vehicle for this job

imagine them zooming around in a white omni with " Ramesh loves Sunita " written on the back windshield and Jai Mata di travels written on the front . .

But this kind of setup if done properly can be very effective , like it did in DC Sniper case. Maybe that case was one of the inspiration for this setup
Bro - lol re-read my post. That is literally what i said. lol

IMO from what i have ready the JSOC units, Mil units dont "train" for this. which every unit is free and not deployed gets sent - ofcourse they treat it as any other deployment/Train Ex and have their normal prep and workups.

Since GWOT I highly doubt SOCOM/JSOC have sent thier "best" units to this competition.

Btw Inside Delta Force has a great annecdote on how this "Olympics" even started. If i am not wrong - it used to be between Delta and GSG-9 only initially and there used to be some "trophy" that would trade hands each time. overtime it expanded to include other allied militaries as well.

I was not taking about this competition though, I saw an interview of ex Delta or Devgru guy (dont remember which one) where he said they are usually given 3-6 months to train for competition
but they were able to get gold medal without being able to train properly as they just came out of a deployment.

Hmm. Fairenough. Though everything i have read has told me the opposite. ofcourse everything i have read refers tot he 80s/90s/early 2000s of JSOC so the culture could have changed

This was provided by PLR systems. Major Sahani went to test out some weapon systems on invitation of PLR/IWI.
Did he get to try the Arads if yes what did he think? They are "supposedly" the new addition to Indian Navy armoury so how are they nothing much on yt available except the content from the company cause they aren't selling it in US yet.

SERE my bad
"escape & evasion" has been mentioned quite a few times by SF veterans on various podcasts. So I'd guess yes, modelled similar to SAS selection, conducted by Unit.

As of "tactical questioning", Jeet Ki Zid web series has a "stress test" depiction, and I ig they had veterans for consultation. So ig something similar to that exists too!

Given the amount of money NSG have how much it will cost them to mod their Sigs to this setup. Its disappointing to see them still running with vanilla Sigs.Same is with Paras and SG on their old gen Tars

That phase during probation in one particular unit is really drearded. They keep a 100+km trek up in the mountains with the unit guys actively hunting you, get caught you'll be beaten up physically and kept in a room full of mosquitos after being stripped naked.
