Our guys need to feel that they're izzat is being looted. Then and only then would you expect them to take threats seriously. This "Nam, Namak, Nishan" mentality resides more than anything else in us

We will face this neighbour too apart from paff
That time they will understand how poor sof standards have fallen down forget China even wrt Pakistan despite numerous experience and conflicts

And manke no mistake there are high possibility of ssg personnel being part of paff ambush
Who knows these attacks done and planned by ssg being disguised as paff

No one talks about this but having watched the paff videos of attack…the poor soldiers looked like sitting duck with no counter attack

there has to be some sop or training for this

Just came across this,

October 1998: As part of the implementation of the Union Home Ministry's decision to conduct pro-active strikes against militants, commando teams supported by IAF Mi-25/35 helicopter gun-ships began striking at terrorist groups deep inside the mountains and forests of Kashmir. After helicopter reconnaissance was conducted to pinpoint the militants, the commandos – comprising NSG and Rashtriya Rifles personnel – were para-dropped, along with supplies, into the area to hunt the militants. They had to rely on these supplies and their ability to live off the land until replenishment every fortnight or so. These missions are possibly ongoing.

I think NSG were operating great here. And by RR units that were para-dropped, I guess those were from the 31 RR (Commando Battalion) since it is affiliated with the Parachute regiment

they did something like this in year 2000 too in badgam but i think it was a regular army who did not sf
nsg was on standby in kashmir during kargil war and the rest of 1999

Can't we use this same tactics now , just use Herons to find the terrorists and send the SF teams camping/hiding in the infested areas to take them out at night . Use cargo drones to replenish them at night and use smaller drones like Switch for lookouts .

Response time would be reduced and chances of intel leak will also be reduced .

But then they fucked up during the Jaffna university helidrop ..
Op Khukri was also a sort of helidrop but we were assisted by SAS in it and the Chinooks belonged to the British aviation unit

1971 was generations ago.

Except hit and run raids what other op experience is there to boast about?

Kargil wasnt a sf success of that order..Infantry outperformed for the role it was given.

10 para team screwed up in Kargil and the embarrassment was so that they werent called again.

Doesn't matter if you don't see the shooters, a proper react to contact drill would have the element taking fire mag dump and lob nades at the guesstimate as SBF while the element not in contact maneuvers for an assault. These are fundamental drills all infantryman should be trying to excel at.
