I believe the battlebelt we saw in the video is from armasen. Cause they had posted a pic and mentioned that those were being tested.
Bhaiya on Twitter even said that we might see them this month if we are lucky (indicating they were sold to unit definitely and we might see them if they ever come in presence of media ) have we seen marcos with battle belts yet?

I did look closely, i also notice them running ARs exclusively ofcourse excluding the machineguns. Why dont we see this force wide?
The first lot of M4's in the army were received by 11 para SF i.e. when they were created. Major Sahani, some officers and the CO insisted on procuring the AR's. 11 PARA is kind of a successive chapter of 9 PARA in the NE region considering it was created and the selection were made by 9 para operatives themselves. Wont get into more minute details but this what I could summarize.

P.S. It all boils down to the CO regarding procurements. Wo chahe to equip kar sakta hai adequately but kuch log hai jo change hi ni hona chahte. They would rather procure cheap fucking gears instead of high end products. We have been facing this issue in Gearsmith. We will be eventually looking to export our products rather than rely on the military. Bahut kosis kar liye but when mentality hi change ni karna chahte to kya hi kar sakte hai.

I believe 12 Para and 13 para were also raised from scratch by 9 SF.
Also,I have seen many of the units you just mentioned which purchase sub-standard yet tacticool looking stuff which looks really amateurish compared to kits bought by better/more active units.
The only good thing i see is that new standard kit for the army SF seems to be promising including new helmet, vest, Situational Awareness kits/Radios/squad level EW and freefall kits.
Anyways, wishing you and sahani sir the best

They prefer a naked AK over an modified AK.
Logic: AK ek halka hathiyar, ye cheeje fatigue badayegi.

Delta has a seperate mandate to any special operations force in India.
A few orgs within the NSG can be called somewhat close to delta's mandate but again NSG comes under MHA.
NSG is more of a battle hardened and better trained SWAT.

Ahhh calling nsg swat doesn't suite their mandate
I would rather term them gendarmerie force

I know many will disagree wrt their structure and command but that's the mandate nsg is close to

As I say- Paras are a broken and failed experiment.

no centralised training or selection, each battalion is a law unto themselves with weak oversight

forget about USSOCOM, look at the other Indian examples- even the navy has a MARCOs modernisation office in its HQ and only 1 training centre.

every ‘fix’ they try (expanding new battalions) just makes the problem worse. Paras need to be torn down and built from the ground up- the current iterative approach is just fiddling around the edges and the deep deep scars and holes will be exposed should india ever have to call these guys to do what they are actually meant to be able to do against an external enemy.

+ all Indian defence companies have to target exports as their main source of revenue, the Indian MoD is too fickle of a customer to be relied on

MOD and the army as well. 999/- ka tactical T-shirt bhi costly lagta hai inko. They want 200-400 wala T-shirt. We were like there's no point in arguing with them. They agree that our product is superior yet they lean onto cheaper stuff citing budget (which is not true). We exported a good chunk of our tshirts to european SWAT units. We will go complete export by mid next year. We will keep selling our products to civilians but the military stuffs such as vests, chest rigs will be shipped off to foreign customers. War is brewing in the middle east and Africa I am sure we will have more than willing customers out there.

Is the situation same with MARCOS? I have heard your T-Shirt was tested and trialed by them. What about personal purchases from operatives?
