Lol ,this another level of pessimism we might be stupid in defence modernistion but atleast we have a military that can fight unlike so many of countries whose military are now smaller than 70k and are cutting funding by the year .looking at you British,Germans

And how many of those countries share a land border with not one, but two adversaries? How many countries are sure that they'll get bonked if two front war happens? How many of those countries are not part of some kind of international defence pact?

Only contry in the entire world to even come close to us is Poland; and see how despite being a NATO memeber and having Article 5 security they're hauling their a** to procure every possible weapon.

With our level of incompetence I am glad that the only thing that is falling short is our fighter jet numbers I will say it as it is if soldiers want better equipment they would have to buy it for themselves expecting anything from the army is hopeless.IA will always run for new tanks and IFV that will comes decades late. And Poland is not good analog for us.who are they expecting to fight? Russia that has to drag people to fill trenches ? Or belaruss with Wagner who are more bark and less bite ?

Regarding air force it's doomed
No expectations
By 2030 they will only have old Su-30MKI 36 odd Rafales and mk1a capable of fighting rest mig-29, m-2000, jag would be just for show or barely useful

The MKIs are already obsolete, their raw power (kinematic and sensor performance) was their biggest strength but in the BVRAAM game they’ve fallen well behind. The talks of deep upgrades to the fleet are just that, the ‘super’ upgrade I’ve heard about for a decade and it seems to have reached a dead end. Now as with all Russian equipment after 10-15 years they’ll start to become extremely difficult to maintain and keep operational, the new flying coffins

LCA MK1As will be the most capable fighters after Rafales in IAF inventory and there’s barley 6 squadrons of them.

Yeah 2 grips on an m4 is very pashto-talicentric considering their societal structure and family values...cheers to NATO SOF especially american SOF on considering the fact that these top operators have little brothers at home for whom they've got the smaller grip for.

ANA SF towards the end of the ISAF campaign were a pretty well regarded unit and were running their own ops with ISAF SOF only acting as support. What killed ANA SF was their lack of ISR and logistical support that NATO/ISAF took with them as they pulled out.

watch the video for yourself, all the guys have modern LADs (peq-15s a lot of them), COMTACs, helmet mounts for NODs etc and you know they’ve been trained how to use all of the above

Vs Indian SF that cannot operate in the night and think screaming into a commercial cellphone remote headset is tactical

I’m talking about the drills. It’s honestly quite basic considering the high level equipment, the room clearing is also quite pathetic IMO.

Shocked about night fighting capabilities. Does the IA still use the same monotube from the 90s?

Doesn’t the IA have gun battles with infiltrators overnight? But being in ann ambush party is far different from launching a general operation.
