Arrey bhai whadsup with the seals going full para commando mode using drop leg holsters and goofy attires ?
Marcos ka the only thing dissapointing is the old ass plate carrier, baaki i dont understand how this same unit is using armasen PCs and safariland liberators lmao still showing up in old ass PC from millenias ago lol
Those are not exactly drop leg holsters. The ones the seals are wearing sit far higher, the strap is meant for better support. The ones we gripe about sit far lower and are impractical.

Two things. A) Armasen is a tiny company, and they don't currently have the capability to manufacture hundreds of thousands. Companies like TATA and MKU do, which is why they get the bulk orders and Armasen gets specialised orders. B) the Indian Army is currently spending the majority of its money on upgrading its battlefield multipliers, like drones, tanks and artillery. The Indian Army has done the bare minimum for infantry along the LoC and LAC and IMHO until it sorts out things like IBGs and integrated theater commands, it should not spend money on force modernisation of its infantry. Our frontline troops have what they need (in terms of body armour and ballistic helmets) and that's enough for now
Accuracy International used to be two guys building guns in a garage...just saying, setting up production after getting large orders is not that hard.

Many troops along the LAC still have the 80s fibre helmets, INSAS, and only mag carriers, which was normal even during Kargil. The ideology in the army still is that the man on ground is still the most important asset, and not sure he is with the best equipment. Where have the tanks and arty been ordered yet?

Arty is pending, this is true, though I have a sneaking suspicion this is because of the stellar performance of the Bofors and other howitzers in recent conflicts, which led the army to believe there is no rushing need to replace.

As regards the tanks, the IA Armoured Corps fleet has gotten MASSIVE upgrades. Tonbo Imaging is outfitting BMP-2s with see through armour systems, new IR/Night sights and other firms/PSUs are getting the BMP-2s other new systems, including new shells. The 2A46M gun on Indian T-72s has received new shells to replace the old 3BM42s and the 2A46M-5 gun on our T-90s is getting absolutely stellar rounds capable of over 700mm at 2km. Our T-72s have been upgraded in the hundreds and the T-90s are replacing T-72s in multiple regiments, with more on the way. The T-72s are entering storage where they can be used whenever necessary.

>Troops along the LAC

Very, very few still have the M1979 helmets. INSAS is also being replaced and multiple AK variants are making their way from Kashmir to the LAC. In Kashmir, the INSAS has long since been "retired" (unofficially) by AKs and variants thereof. Furthermore, the Indian troops on the LAC are getting much better personal equipment (like PCs) but the altitude and lack of oxygen make carrying such a load nearly impossible, especially when you have to start throwing punches

They converted 29 airborne to sf as well ? Also notice that 2 of the guys have sg badge .

Reiterating it, All regular para bns have been converted to SF.
Also, 'airborne' wasn't an official terminology like 'SF', this word was made to satisfy the ego of 'Regular' Para guys to feel a bit special.
Speaking of SG badge, regular para also gave a sizeable number of personnel to SG cadre.
I believe an asset like SG should have a permanent cadre, they are seriously armed well.

Those SG badges symbolize everything that is wrong with our SOF mindset.

It is neither a Tier 1 SMU (no permanent cadre) nor is it a clandestine/covert unit if they hand out Badges so ex deputies can wear it when back with their regular unit.

There exists no airborne units in army according to army terminology
But actually after this move there are no sf in army everyone is airborne
For anyone in a professional environment this just comes across as an incredibly toxic management culture where the leadership is fiddling and playing semantic games to massage figures ahead of an end of year/period review.

now generals can present that they’ve increased SF strength by X% and their leaders are too clueless to challenge the methodology.

imagine having to go through SF selection in one of the OG Battalions to now see airborne guys strutting around with SF tabs. Only a clout chasing unserious army would operate in such a manner. War ready my a$$

It’s the problem with the deputation model- these badges have to be issued because the member was an IA asset serving in SG so have to have something for their service ribbons on the way out

the hilarity of wearing these things overtly when you simultaneously claim SG doesn’t exist can’t even be summed up

Sir is this another dose of copium for this poor man or you got your hands on some good pics or data?
There are a very few pics of special group on open source, all information on the internet about them is either out dated or just straight bs. Many people still confuse them with other vikas bns.

Anything under CabSec is armed to teeth and show examplary professionalism be it SPG or SG.

Will try to get my hands on as much info as i can since a close relative has worked in that org.

Exactly, we need a permanent cadre for these orgs.
