When you think these guys can’t be any worse off

what is going on inside the Paras? They seem to have completely lost the plot.The worst part is they probably swaggered about thinking they were impressing the other unit when behind their backs they’d be laughing at the paras.

They have better pc and helmets also

You are thinking to much into it, you have to showcase the weapons you are working with on joint ex or dignitaries for familiarisation of equipment, it doesnt matter how good or bad they are, different units have different budgets , its not how new or old our gear is but more about how we employ it, I saw few pics of them long time ago, I will see if I can find the one with dignitaries, here is public display one.

Whilst I agree with most of what you’re saying, on what basis are you saying they’re more innovative?

I personally saw them using various and particular sights wrt different types of tavors which I haven't seen case of para sf
They were first one to use drum mags ig
They might not be filling their mandate of cct jtac pj etc but still their equipments are better than para sf

This is the audience, even the ‘professionals’ seem to be on this level- give a guy a maroon beret and sunglasses and they’ll swoon.

This is just as bad:

What other nation’s ‘special forces’ would stand around with bright insignia on showing off their kit to some foreign infantry unit.

The sooner the Paras drop the SF nomenclature the better but I fear the ‘commando culture’ seen in the IPS/CAPF is in the IA too so this is here to stay.

‘im a commando because I have a leg holster’ is about all the thought process that went into this. He doesn’t even have his weapon slung properly to his shoulder

look at the Indonesian for comparison- he’s got a c clamp and is basically in a retention position, all he has to do is extend and he’s on target in a good shooting position

Civilians now prioritise growth over anything else, which is fair enough BUT it’s incredibly myopic if you think that you can afford to neglect hard power and it won’t come back to bite you

PLA are going to be calling this bluff soon enough. IAF has already lost any edge it once maintained with the PAF and the IN can’t seem to figure out that a blue water navy needs submarines
