Interesting,
Is this MO backed by tactical doctrine or just beacause lack of availability in numbers to our sf teams?
Imho,i think its kinda of an bummer, all the elite sf units around world provide suppressors to all members of their units, they even suppress their beltfed machine guns.

Am i wrong here saying that?
Tactical doctrine that is stuck in the 80s. Back in the day the point man / Sentry killing duty was given to Supressed Uzis and thats all we had.

Even the NSG MP5-SD is with point person in the stack.

No evolution.

nothing like that, if you want a historic perspective I am quoting from Lt Gen PC Katoch's book.....9 and 10 Para Commando were for mountain and desert warfare, 1 Para Commando was an experimental SF unit created on lines of the SAS, it's CO that time had been a part of British SOE in WW2, Lt Gen Inderjit Singh Gill.

So, 1 Para was for mountain, desert, counter terrorism
The thing that seperated it from others was urban warfare, for which it received training directly from SAS over three years because of some issues in our own brass. However urban counter terrorism didnt seem the Army's priority and got reflected during Op Blue Star, so NSG, SPG and others, things were created. 1 Para SF now is almost same as 9 and 10. Indian SF got good at one time and then became belly dancers for the airborne

Someone is doing good research in nsg it looks like, good to see some realistic and good requirements, although I think price is little to high even with accessories ,You can get L3 harris pnvg and ops core helmet for even cheaper , also I have heard from a good source that l3 pnvg cost $45000 For civi market but for big unit purchase , they cost about $ 7k-10k a piece.
Hope tonbo can provide l3 level performance.
