Usually IR laser, not visible to human eyes
I meant that red lasers have the problem you mentioned, yes they do give up the position, but modern lad's are IR laser based so not visible to human eyes, unless enemy has IR capabilities

Bruh what are you even talking about, vis red laser is just additional feature for day operation, in night you use ir laser and ir illuminator, not vis laser, stop watching so much movies, range is around 16 km on older peq-2 , newer dbal a-2 have great laser range and about 3.5 km illuminator range

Not even modern ones, first ir enabled sight were used by germans in ww-2 , first seprate module for night vision (paq4c) was created in early 80's and the one in use with para sf (peq-2) was created in early 90's , The current nato standard (peq-15) was created in 2003.

Most visible (red) lasers will be mounted on a pressure switch so itโ€™s only used temporarily. IR lasers will generally be kept on for as long as youโ€™re on NODs (although I assume thereโ€™s SOPs around this when it comes to fighting peer enemies who have NODs themselves)

LAD generally have an IR laser and also IR flood option that acts sort of like a IR torch. Some might also have a visible laser feature

Actually opposite, ir lasers and illuminators are connected to pressure switch so that they can instantly be accessed without draining battery by keeping it on, override buttons are used to keep them on.

If I have to watch or listen to a podcast, it is only Joe Rogen. His podcasts with Ex SF and CIA people are amazing and gives you lot more insight than your normal BeerBiceps questions like how was your training, Your first combat and all. Dont think there are any podcasters in India who are that good.
Dude then you should be listening to "The Team room" podcast with Jack Murphy (Former 75th RR/Green Beret/CIF) and Dave Parkes ((75th RR, Marine, CIA contractor etc) the have everone on from US SF, OGAs, to foreign SF and OGAs etc.

so has there ever been any evidence of NSG using LAD?
Yes, as a matter of fact, NSG 2022 calendar has a pic where their MP5 or MP7 or whatever it is fitted with LAD, which has both IR and Visible laser, though there the Visible one was shown. It also had an integrated flash light

Share the picture, if Iโ€™m not mistaken it was just the normal Glock Flashlights they use with their MP5s.
