Bhai this...were being watched live by drones...seems a bit far fetched. Idk could you post the link to this convo to see if it's a trustworthy source. Gotta agree with cold-hearted, this seem like a fanboy comment

cmon guys common sense...who will send trainees.

I don't know why are we finding excuses like sissies.Any SF team would have met the same fate or not charged and saved 2 lives and let the terrorist escape.
I get what you're saying but I checked again and it's being insisted that three of them were indeed trainees.

They are not saying that these guys weren't trained. It could be that SF sends new boys to ops right after basic training to gain combat experience. Things like combat free falling and diving perhaps comes later.

buddy, seems to be a fact that 3 of these were trainees.

I don’t think that has any basis on the outcome, this team was doomed the moment that snow ridge collapsed.

Part of Para probation is a stint in a operational context, this is fact. My uncle was in 7 Para (Airborne) and he did 2 months in the NE before he was fully badged. They have already been given their maroon berets and have been trained up but this is one of the last stages before they are fully badged.
Makes sense.

Makes sense.
Bro,those are newly inducted sf operators.Their probation is over.

A para is a para.

And those newly inducted are the ones that jumped in the nallah to save the experienced JCO to help him? What different would a experienced operator do in that situation.

They faught really well and i dont think we need to make any excuses.

Even the new members of Para are experienced infantrymen unlike Garuds and Marcos. So they are well trained soldiers.

I never made any excuses. No questions about their handling of the sitisitusi. Neither did I ever claim that their "trainee" status did in any way compromise the op. All I'm saying boss is that I've heard many people in the knkow say that these were trainees. And those people too had a very high regard for their performance so I don't think anyone is making excuses barring a few aberrations maybe.

Guys its true that we all are sad about the loss of 5 men. But its been two days and everyone had debated about almost all the angles and possibilities of the op. Right now everything most of you guys saying are just what was said two pages back.Nothing new is coming out, so its turning more or so into amateurish trolling. So please refrain from unnecessary spamming of the thread.

I understand.

For me personally it feels like blaming them by calling them trainees but what ever little i know any god damn SF team wont have survived that.

Ya what could have been done was that had the last two guys not jumped they would have saved their own lives and then i would have doubted their units motivation.

I would have criticised them in that case.

They performed as well and worse as any operator could have done.

The same thought came to my mind too. What could have been the reason rest of the units got cut off from the trapped unit? Its said that two were still breathing when reinforcements found them. Was it that hard to pin point the exact location when u have commn systems with you. Or was there any adverse climatic situation?
Sorry i couldn't resist reacting to your doubt.

My friend you're just assuming things, Do you belong to Army Medical Corp or Army personnel that was using drone that time of event? How could you possibly know what exactly happened there.
To cap this off, ppl assuming and talking as if the sf were that incompetent: shame on you. These sf are more bravehwarted and well disciplined than you will ever be in your pecker sucking lifetime. Ever. Mac13202 guy or whatever your name is: know and understand facts before commenting and making statements about fallen soldiers. The guy you quoted is not assuming things. These are official statements by the army about the collapse of unsteady ground footings they were on. YOU are the one who don’t have the facts and running your mouth here. STOP that nonsense.
Another guy in here commenting that It’s amateurish that they fell as they messed up on basic infantry knowledge. The area was filled with 8 feet of snow numbnut. You can’t see shit there. NO SF in the world would even deploy there given those conditions. But hey, to this nincampoop armchair warrior, It’s easy to make fun of guys whom you would never measure up to.
These guys went down fighting and they took them down. This is official word. Not some madeup fanboy bs. It’s the tangos who fucked up, they were not able to survive even when the paras fell down right on their lap with fractures.
so yeah, keep running your mouth here. It’s all you people can do. Don’t give me that bs, they you are well wisher critics who want them to improve. B fucking S. If you were true critics, you would point the fingers at the command, who sent these guys there. NO SF in their right mind would ever deploy in those conditions.

Muzzle velocity is right. You’re no expert. Common sense would tell you, that it’s impossible to fire at a tango when he is in a hand to hand combat with your friendly from 10 feet away. It’s impossible unless you don’t care about hitting friendlies.

This is precisely what I and Abingdonboy had been wracking our brains over, this just doesn't make any sense. The Army must get its shit together now and optimize its procurement process. Their priorities are all fucked up, these guys have to understand that we need more attack choppers and proper gear for the boots and if they need to cut back on their order book for MBTs and other AFVs for that, then so be it. We're not about to get into an all-out conventional war any time soon and these machines are gonna rust and rot for their entire service lives anyway.
If we're blowing so much money on so many fucking tanks, we better actually invade Pakistan in the near future.

I wanted to articulate it better but no, this is perfect.
We better be invading some zones if we are investing this much in fucking tanks.
I mean, idiotic comparison (It makes you go "WTF?" when you realize it) but the fact is, if we're talking of a grid-based deployment, we have one tank for every 8 villages in Porkistan.
That's a lot.
That's more than a lot.
That's overkill.
It's..
I don't know wtf the military is preparing for with these tanks.
Any one have any actual logical guess/speculation?
