State run enterprises have been supported since independence, but they have failed to innovate and add value. If one takes OFB as an example it becomes evident, they are not even capable of coming up with an ingeniously designed, decent and reliable hand gun.
Secondly, the government needs to support private enterprise that innovates and add value and not the likes of Ambani and Adani.
No they didn't failed stop your BS ---- OFB is not a design agency --- Pvt sector my foot --- passing foreign maal as their own is not inovation --- if an individual is innovative may be he should work for govt ---- Desh bhakt work for govt institutions --- money bhakt don't --- they just pretend :biggrin2:

so you are basically saying what I am saying for quite some time in this forum --- if screw driving is the criteria to get contract than OFB should do it period --- thanks for agreeing with me ---- in long run we need to keep supporting domestic PSU & state enterprise not chetoos sellers.
This not what i meant nibba.
If xyz private company can learn the foreign technology and create it's version of it then it is all good. And how non learning slow OFB can learn any technical knowledge when they don't even know how to manufacturer basic shit same goes for BEL and other government agencies. They can't learn. For example The German engine which is powering Arjun tank suppose Germany ban the support for that engine can OFB copy it? No. Can Mahindra or TATA copy that yess.
Even DRDO learned from foreign cheetos seller and created advanced things from taking that base. If Tonbo learned from Foreign OEM and is creating new technology with their own IP rights then it's all fine.

Even your commiii super power Chinese actively work to copy Western technologies.

What an eye opening interview ! Poor guys from Tonbo had to sell to US and other armies to 'convince' our babus and gernails that they're good enough. Such a shame !
Timeline of growth of Tonbo is not that off, as being perceived.

Tonbo was recognised here at DFI in 2016, introduced by @Shaitan.

They took the plunge of manufacturing in India after news came out that India is considering preference to IDDM in defence purchases, this is around 2015. before that they were designing in India, like many other electronic companies in Bangalore do.

And let’s not forget, NVG & NVD came on the top of priority purchase list after manohar Parrikar became RM.

Tonbo should infact be hanging a photo of manohar Parrikar in their Indian office, for giving them life in Indian market.

Really, then who designed INSAS.
The problem with PSU and other such government agencies is that they are full of bureaucrats and if an inherently innovative person were to join such an organization, the bureaucrats would not let him get any useful and meaning full work done.
The bureaucrat is more in favor of bureaucracy were useless activity is more valued achievement. i.e. for a bureaucrat paperwork weighing 2 Kg is more satisfying than actual results on the ground.
And also I believe the bureaucrats suffer for a severe case of schadenfreude.

A mock anti-hijack exercise was conducted by INS Dega at Visakhapatnam airport on 12 February 2020. The anti-hijack #exercise simulated a situation and involved actions by various agencies including #MARCOS, #CISF, #AAI and the State Government agencies. The objective of the exercise was to test the efficacy of the contingency plans and procedures to deal with #hijack threats by all #stakeholders. The simulated situation was created using a naval #Dornier aircraft for initiating coordinated actions by all stakeholders. On completion of the exercise, debrief was conducted and Standard Operating Procedures were revalidated to effectively deal with contingencies. The Anti-Hijack Mock Drill is conducted at every Indian airport annually as mandated by the National Civil Aviation Security Programme with an aim to test the efficiency of the airport’s Contingency Plan and to familiarise all agencies about their respective responsibilities in a hijack situation.

The officer on the left here looks goofy as hell- shirt untucked, helmet not fixed properly and thigh holster at an angle.

Good to see the general updating of their kit that is happening but still frustrating to see that some are wearing tan boots, some black- what is it about Indian SFs that they cannot order sufficient kit to ensure uniformity?

Also, for the 100000th time, High cuts with no integrated comn headsets is utterly absurd.

+ it's madness to have an anti-hijack drill and not have NSG there. This really isn't MARCOs' job at ALL.

++ the UCP has to go, it's okay for their maritime ops but on shore, and particularly for urban ops, it looks ridiculous.

IED conference at National Bomb Data Centre, NSG Manesar
Bomb Disposal Squad hence the unique plate carriers.

Noticed that too, has to be a first for Indian units but looks like this trend will quickly catch on- we know NS are going this way and I've heard inside news of other SFs seriously interested in it.

Yea specially if its an Airport. Anti Hijack should be NSG domain even it is on a military installation. MARCOS should only be there to provide support to NSG.

SOF officers wear insignia while operational???!! (training evolution is considered operational).

Problem is OFB is bad at screw drivering too..... Look at OFB produced T-90 vs LT produced k-9 both in speed and quality.

US government contracts MIC to supply Afghan Govt. with kits under FMS as part of Military Aid. Afghan Govt. receives kit and issues it to ANA. ANA local units receive kits and then sell some to the Taliban. Taliban then sells/donates some of the kit to JeM and other Paki sponsored terror outfits operating in Kashmir.
