Para special forces during Nagrota Encounter

Exfil Ballistic Helmets finally
@abingdonboy look at this!!!!!
Let me get it out of the way.... high cuts without the accompanying integrated communication headsets is POINTLESS, those plate carriers are tragic and they really need to learn how to dress uniformly- why is leaf print still being seen over a decade since it was officially phased out?

Hmmm this is interesting though, every single one of them with the M4 (as far as I can see), what is this unit? It is interesting if PARA (SF) units have inducted enough M4s so that entire teams can have it instead of 2-4 per team.

Looks like a lot of them have doubled up mags too- this is what the best in CQB have been doing for a while (including NSG).

A lot going on in this one image, just weird to see this kind of thing out of nowhere and again really makes me curious about what unit this is.

But at least something relatively positive to discuss at last.

where are the fan boys who were crying due to the poor equipment. of course para forces never show their true capability.
Please don't perpetuate this childish nonsense mate! This is one image, one unit. I can show you dozens of images/vids of PARA (SF) operating in the Valley where they are at this standard:

You're telling me they were just hiding their true capabilities at this time? This is one of the few images that doesn't make the IA/ SF look like a rag-tag African milita.

A step in the right direction. Still a long way to go, lots to build or buy, lots to learn, lots to fix, lots to die while the steps happen.

Anyone who disagrees with the fact that Paras need better gear is only lending credence to the statement that a soldier's life is cheap in India.

I want to see my country's soldier with the best shit on earth, not substandard gear.
Don't you?

lmao porki SSG are killed by our regular troops no matter how much they equip themselves they will still be thrashed by our boys.
Do u know why?

Why is SSG killed on a regular basis?

Becoz we have superior surveillance equipments that help Para SF contain them easily. And the advantage SSG has in equipment is not big enough.

One side is trying to infiltrate the other side with the worlds best fencing and surveillance equipments.Who is at the advantage?

If we have to be honest.Ya sometimes Para have done things without any assistance and even Ghataks and regulars for that matter but majoritatively its due to better surveillance.

No need to import these EXFIL HCBH. MKU makes them indigenously. Now the need is to equip all the Para SF with the same gear as seen during the Nagrota encounter and also there is a need for a better headset and not that call centre headset.
Something like this:

When was the last time anyone has seen SF teams equipped with combat knives strapped to the chest, in J&K ops?

NSG? they do have 1200 extra troops freed from bodyguard duty recently.
Hmmm, an interesting point and another thing to add to my list of what's different/new to this pic- they also have chest-mounted sidearms which so far has been a very rare sight in Indian units.

These are an IA unit 100% though

NSG have too many giveaways (they definitely don't use M4 and those cr@ppy call-centre silver headsets)

+ we know what NSG unit deployed in JK looks like, they are just sat there idle (most they do is train CRPF/JKP) as no one in the state administration or IA wants to call them in.

Okay, I am genuinely intrigued now.

My gut says PARA (SF) but these guys look so unlike any other PARA (SF) unit I've ever seen and whilst I am looking for more PARA identifiers I find more and more that points away from them.

+ unless I've missed something this is the very first time I've seen a PARA (SF) unit with an assault dog (Belgian Malonois), until now there has been only one specialist unit in India with them....

++ What is the pistol these guys are carrying, it's definitely not the PARA (SF)'s standard issue OFB hi-power or even the Glock-17. (@Gessler )

Whoever they are, they've definitely got the operator look down, It's like a foreign SOF has just been airdropped in JK.

(Those plate carriers are still atrocious and high cuts without integrated comns is amateur))

This can be progress we made after PM Modi's government created a Special Operations Division.

Why no one likes to call them in? :confused1:
Indians know one thing- empire building. It damages the egos of too many to seek external help, I don't think the IA leadership has ever thought there was ever a situation that they couldn't handle or that they needed to seek NSG assistance for- this is probably a good way for them to think and hence why the decision needs to be taken out of their hands and an NSG act of some kind needs to be implemented that makes them responsible for deploying at their own discretion and not only when called upon by local units or states as is the case now.
