I am already in love. What a Beast but the problem is that it lacks protection against Mines or IEDs. So Lives of the SF Operators could be in danger if exposed to these kind of dangerous elements.
Light strike vehicles and Cassipers/Humvees doesnt belong to the same class. LSVs are to give extra speed for operators unlike APCs which give more protection than mobility. There was a dedicated thread for LSVs somewhere there in DFI which was active back. Do visit you will get the idea

Two in-depth videos which show how special forces can use vehicles in COIN, their pros and cons and some unique challenges. (although in the Indian context, it probably won't be implemented as shown below. Maybe after taking over PoJK :))
The Pathfinder's vehicle was denied further implementation for failing to perform in Afghanistan as shown above. Thing was a fucking disaster.
The french GCP using Toyotas against Jihadis (such cheating, much wow).

I hope ours went heavy testing before being brought in the game.
Also, if I was a general, I'd start lobbying for cross training with the British Pathfinders right about now. It's like all they do, all the time and have tremendous experience with... I don't what to call this... SOF cavalry tactics? Vehicular combat? Mobile strike warfare? DEMOLITION DERBY? o_O

Ah, a 4x4 with mounted MGs....a special forces mainstay since WW2 North Africa theatre:

Yes SAS and LRDG British Special Operation Forces used jeeps and Chevys as raid and patrol vehicles in WW2 in the Middle East and North Africa theater of war against the German Africa Corps. The British Army and US Army learning from the British still continues this tradition but had higher difficulty maintaining it because of Terrorist Ambushes, Mines and IEDs in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is interesting fact that The Indian Army also once had a Long Range Reconnaissance Force, it was called ILRS or Indian Long Range Squadron which was created on the Similar lines as the LRDG by the British to patrol the NWFA aka KPK Border near Afghanistan and Iran. The Squadron was split up at the end of the war and during Subsequent Partition it was split up along the lines of religion and ethnicity and each component and personal of the Force was given to each country.

India can only Implement these kinds of vehicles in open battlefields like the Central Plains of Panjab or the Thar or Cholistan Desert. We can implement them as First attack vehicle for Raiding and Patrolling or as light Anti-Tank or Anti-infantry Vehicles like used by the Indian Army Veergati Company Quarter Master Havildar Abdul Hamid against Pakjabi Bastards in 1965. I think that Mahindra Rakshak and it’s variants are much more suited in The battlefields of J&K and POK than this type of open and fast vehicle. J&K and POK are more of a tight knit place with many obstacles and less maneuvering space which makes Armored Light Vehicles like Rakshak excellent options.

Brings back memories... back in 2015, I was sailing on a ship which used to do regular routes in waters north of the horn of Africa and into the gulf of Aden... at that time, these Somali pirates used to threaten ships over the radio on Channel 16... We had a group of Ex-Polish paratroopers onboard as security.. one day suddenly news came that the French 2nd REP had deployed into Djibouti... That day onward.. the threatening stopped automatically :yo:

Other than adding some rails/mounts to the ACHs what has actually changed for PARW (SF) equipment in the last 10 years?

Still with those ridiculous field load carrier vests, no integrated comns, no additional load outs/modules etc

Stagnation is depressing to see.
1. 9mm Side arm, IMO its not 1A anymore, is it Sig P226 @Unknowncommando 2 ?
2. Induction of new LSV (Also probably the new ATVs, it cam around 20111/12)

:biggrin2::biggrin2:

Its becoz they are like shock troops I think in pathankot doc or some other para sf doc I saw the use of LSV where they use this high mobility low profile vehicle to troop insertion and fast tempo operation, kind a like a stealth mission, adding AGL will not only increase the fire power but It will also change the mission profile, so in my opinion is sf tents to have focused area high power weapon rather than a larger area splinter damage weapon,

Why in exercise like these we see very inferior gear? Does it is because limited numbers of equipment hence everyone is unable to get equipments?

What type of commn systems are the SF using? Are those thr same Motorolla ones used by RR and regular infantry?
Is the wireless systems of SF different from that used by rest of the army?
