wow so almost identical kit to regular infantry/RR now? Take away the Tavors (even some regulars have these now) and you would never identify these guys as SF operators- the guys who are meant to be the best of the best and the tip of the spear.


in most armies SOF operators are 5-10 years ahead of what the regulars will get in terms of equipment, as noted before since 2010 or so Indian SF- primarily PARA SF- have just stood still. Utterly 0 improvements in their equipment. It’s like they got the Tavors and said “we are done”.


Can’t even compare Them to the top SOF units in the world anymore, that is actually too depressing but then even many African SOFs have superior equipment to Indian SOFs.




I wish it wasn’t the case but it just isn’t getting any better. These guys don’t even have basic equipment like integrated comns, proper uniforms, proper plate carriers, proper optics, NVGs etc. And people wonder why they perform so pathetically in almost every operation they conduct.

god knows what the future is but right now it looks all too bleak, I had prayed the surgical strikes would be a game changer and finally the clowns in MoD and the “big” military would see the importance of these elite guys but alas these morons have learnt nothing and still seem to think SFs are just super infantry.

don't forget they fucked enemies inside their own territory 2 times. there are very less battle hardened units in the world and para sf is one of them.

Sometimes I wonder if we are the only folks noticing these things. Do these thoughts ever come to high rankers mind or are they simply ignorant. Surely they have trained with the best troops in the world so they must have a idea what a proper SOF is supposed to look like.

I was watching a very good WW2 documenatary on Netflix.. i get now why the sf is not being equipped well.

The guys have a russian mindset ...cannon fodder plus human wave and win.Luckily the casualties are less due to good training but otherwise nothing really.

Thatswhy numbers are high .. equipments are low.

Yes, they are. Mickey Mouse or Bunny Boots and they are the only option for the Arctic climate conditions.

All gear reserved for Army Day demonstration before audience (also *sunglasses*).

In some US states, SWAT are now starting with powder/gas chemical weapons... Nothing unaffordable.
